Hi Chaitra!
I would call my better half by her real name. Her real name is smaller and sweeter, therefore, I do not require any pet name to address her. Like-wise she also calls me with my first name and she does not use any pet name for me.
It is good to know that you have liberty to call your hubby by his first name and I feel it looks good, when one is addressed by his/her first name.

Hi!
My spouse and I call each other baby, or bebe or sometimes beh... When I want something from him (mostly something material LOL), I call my husband "dad" like a little girl, which he responds to gently... He then calls me "ma" just to make me realize I am already a mother of 4 grown kids! :) But we both get upset when we hear each of us calling each other by our first names, it sounds so formal and so foreign to our ears... We only use our names to introduce each other to someone. Terms of endearment works best to show our respect and love.

My fiance and I call each other by baby most of the time, and not by our real names. We enjoy using the pet names, and everyone around us knows that we most often call each other baby. When we hear something that another one doesn't, say when his parents call for one or both of us, we will either say our names or baby, but most often it's by our names. If we're talking about each other, we'll say each other's names, or he, or she.

It depends. When I want his attention, such as when I need his help with something, I call him by name, but in casual conversation, I usuall7y call him "Dear" or sometimes "Sweetheart".

Calls of endearment, well me and hubby were used of calling each other HONEY. We never spoke of calling each other by our names. When we do try that, it sounds weird, probably not used of getting called by our first names anymore.
Sometimes when we I do talk to my parents I accidentally would respond whats that honey?lolz. Anyway, my mom and dad does the same thing. I have never ever heard my mom called my dad in his first name Sergio, neither did my dad called my mom Claire, they always call each other "Mahal" which means beloved.
So i guess, i just inherited that from my parents . Happy Mylotting.

i call my hubby honey... but when i am angry, then i will call him by his real name... he also call me honey... so it is a bit weird when both of us are calling each other by our real names... but when we are in public, we call each other by our real name as we don't want to sound too mushy in public... take care and have a nice day...

For the first few months that we lived together, she usually call me "darling" and I call her by her nickname. Later on, we call each other "honey"

Hai chaitra! It is an old story for girls to not even spell their husband's name. But now times have changed and they are free to call by their actual names.Because they don't have more age gaps like in the past days. They get married with a difference of just 2 to 3 years and so they tend to move friendly with their husbands.I call my wife by her name and she calls like that when we are alone and in the public she use to call "Ennanga" which is in Tamil.Cheers!

Its a very interesting thing. Now a days we use to call our spouse to in her own name or use a nick name. And the same response from another part. But if i look in previous we can see that my mom would not ever take the name of dad.I just enjoy the respect to each other.

I call my husband " love", sweety, and honey. he call me sweetheart, wife and honey too. We love to call each other by names but we are used calling each other using pet names and i think its so sweet. Whenever we are in front of relatives and friends, we still use pet names. We are not shy about it, hehehe.

Hello,I call my husband Honey! my husband is my Honey, I love honey, he calls me baby, or by my name, I call him by his name when I feel like it, sometimes when we're out in public we call each other by name, like in Church, or taking care of business. I love pet names, sometimes I call him honey lamb, or honey bunny. I'm very affectionate, and thats what he means to me. I feel everybody needs love and wants to be loved, it's a very personal thing. You and your spouse are one, I give to him what I want from him, love responds to love. It doesn't always have to be another name, its all in the way you feel in your heart, you can call your husband by his name with so much love, it can surpass being called a pet name with no love in it. I'm not sure what women called their husbands in India but in the Bible it says that Sarah called Abraham "lord", today we live in a totally different world. Men are to be the Head of their households family wise, however men and women should love and respect each other as equals.

ha ha ha..so i am olden days Indian girl......i have never called him by name..thoguh i am not a very shy kind of girl...and i dont hesitate when i have to tell his name to some other person asking to fill forms or any other paper work or documents...the system of not taking names was the result of kind of showing respect to elders in the joint families...and i have kind of such family...we have lot of relatives in the same colony...and they keep coming frequently to our house, so we have to adjust to those rules....
of course...he too doesnt call me by name...our sentences start with...'Kyo'....when we talk to each other ...sometimes when he is in funny mood..he calls out my name...but at that time i feel my own name strange

Hi Chaitra,
In Kerala (south India) mostly ladies are calling their husbands by adding ‘etta’ with the name of their spouse, but in the real meaning of ‘ettan’ is brother. But they are using it as a style and it is easy to call. Earlier there were using ‘chettan’ instead of adding ‘etta’ with name. You are right now most of the people are calling by names. But now also many are hesitating to call the name infront of in-laws. I am not calling name or nick name. I have put my own name to call. What about your state, I have no idea about your state.

Hi Sreekala... Nice to know about your state... In Karanataka usually girls call their spouse 'ree' but since I know my husband from childhood days I will call him by his name... By the way how was your holiday?

hello chaitra!
i use to call him "babe" when we're still bf/gf i think its cute by then and so i named the puppy that he gave me "babes"! hehehe
now that we are already married, i call him "be" (short for "bebe" or "baby") maybe because he's my baby and i am his baby...since we don't have kids yet...
but when i am angry with him...i call him on his first name!hahaha
have a nice day!

As we got married early I call him "PA" later on I call
him honey so that it will be sweeter and lovelier to hear.
Calling our love ones has also a value on it. If you call
him in his name its different than caring call.
To please our love one , call it sweetly and dearly.
