When i opened my page to day, i recieved a msg from another mylot member asking me to change my avatar. The reason is: He doesnt like it. I know the photo is a bit off, but not that OFF... besides thats what picture i like.
Right now, I inverted the colors of the picture but its still same. Its not like im inviting something on the picture. I an making any invitation, i should have posted something like that.
If someone emails you with that, would you change the picture or do things your way. I might bring that old picture back, im just using this one right now and see some of mylotters opinion.

Sometimes criticisms are for the better. If you are up to it, try experimenting with better avatars. Might work magic. But somewhere you must have one distinctly your own. Then let no one make you change it anymore.

Difficult to please everyone. Sometimes comments and criticisms hit below the belt. Toughen up a little bit. Don't allow anyone to get under your skin, especially those who bully.

its one of those things that you really don't have to but you can. i could understand if it was some thing bad, but its not. i can understand why some people are asking you to change it, but its not showing any thing. I've seen worst images on here they your avatar. personally i wouldn't change it unless the creator of mylot say that you have to change it. its kind of cool that you turned it into a negative colored image.

Actually, Its been there for couple of weeks now. If mylot disagrees with the photo i should have gotten an email already, but i didnt. and thats what i said, its not even showing anything. It will be way nasty if theres not hands in it. And ive seen a lot here in mylot then my avatar.

I do not care for your avatar, there are others I do not like either. This is a family type website. Young people can be on here. That is not appropriate for them to look at. I was not going to say anything, but since you ask, I am telling you that in my opinion it is inappropriate for this site. I would never have put it up in the first place, so I would never have to be asked by someone else to take it down.

I don't think anyone has a valid reason for asking you to change your avatar. If they don't like it, they don't have to look at it. The avatar any member chooses is a personal choice and you have as might of a right to express yourself as anyone else here has.

Maybe that mylot member wanted the hands removed out of the picture because he\she is a sicko.

i won't be changing my avatar just because people asked me to... if they don't like my avatar, it is their problem and they have a choice not to look at it... i don't force people to look at my avatar... we have the freedom here to post any avatar we like as long as it is not offensive and does not violate mylot regulations... take care and have a nice day...

Doesnt matter, change it or not. It is impossible to satisfy everyone, unless the avatar was offensive and a mylot admin or w.e asked you to change it, then that would be the time to change the avatar.

Well lets take it this way, I guess some people simply loved your discussion but then when they saw your profile avatar they simply could not look at it, some people do feel uncomfortable with the way things are, not all like to leave their comfort zone.......but still I would say the decision is yours its your avatar and you have the full control over it.......
Have a nice day !!!!

Thanks John, yeah, thats what i think too..that he liked my discussion but not the avatar..well, you can continue answering the discussion without checking the avatar right.. what matters is that you reply to post..it doesnt require you to make comment on the avatar. i think i leave it as that for while now, im starting to like the inverted color..

Now that you've put asked it, you drew more attention to the avatar, lol. I don't used to stare coz I thought its just a bunch of colors but now that you've mentioned I recognize the picture. lol. I'm an artist and I draw naked portraits within the bounds of art, im not sure though why some over-zealous people are offended by it. Its the human body, so long as its not vulgar or inappropriate I don't mind.

So, coming from tan artist, you think that photo is offensive in anyway? i have to invert the color that way it wont look too offensive by what he said. and ive been getting lots of msg saying its nice and its pretty but not asking me to replace it..we were even having argument if its a guys hands covering it or the girl itself.

Any avatar selected by a person, is his own expression of self, it reflects what he thinks/visualise himself, that is to say picture of self. There are persons who some times suggest to change the avatar, it is immaterial. as long as he wish, he may have it that way. There is no necessity, when any person says some thing, it is not necessary to change, or to follow, it his own wish, if he thinks, he may have it, if he like it that way, the it is O.K. I am sorry for it. PLease forgive me.
Seasons greetings and all the best wishes.

I changed my avatar from a mountain with a bunch of clouds to the angel with beautiful wings I have now because it suited the mood I am in. I don't think anyone here has any right to tell us or ask us to change our avatar. It is our alter-ego I think. It is for some people a way to express the way they are feeling. Like with me. When I had the mountain and the clouds it was me and showing how open and free I was feeling. Now the angel is showing how sad and full of grief I am feeling. And that I know that God is at work right now very deeply in my life. So I think you should do what is right for you and the heck with what anybody else asks you to do!! Make you feel good for you that is all that counts first last and always!!

Well, the reason why i choose that is because im working out right now after gaining weight for coupld of months, and i have this stretch marks from pregnancy, and since im mylot often, i want to look at that picture to remind me what i used to have before pregnancy and before when i used to be slim and all that. It keeps me on track with my diet regimen and work out..coz im aiming for that.

Like I said you have a right to any any Avatar you want to use. Nobody has any right to say anything about what you are using unless it is something that is nasty and really perverted. And then I think the only time stuff hash not gotten on is because someone complained.

If you feel comfortable with that avatar I don't see any reason why you should bow to others opinion. It is you who bear the brunt of criticism, if any. Again you need to analyze your avatar, what does that represent, anything offensive? Maybe if it is not of public interest you should try to change it to something that every eyes is comfortable of looking. The avatar is the first impression that draws the likely person behind the posts. Pictures tell a thousand story.

Hi Daryljane, for me to remove my avatar, the requester must give me a reason. A reason like he doesn't like it, is not good enough. It's a matter of opinion anyway. And I won't remove it - the person can opt not to view or respond to my discussions if he doesn't like my avatar!

I almost didn't recognize you there! lol! Well, i guess you should especially here in myLot since lots of people are quite concerned about not mixing it with anything sexually graphic at least. Yours border from sexually graphic and not sexually graphic. If my avatar is nothing short of violating the rules, then i won't change it. I'm pretty sure you'll draw flak from people here and if you can stand it, why not? revert it back to your old avatar.

I would not change it. If they dont like it they certainly dont have to look at it or open your discussions. Do what you want.
