For me it's the George Foreman grill, I use that grill 5 times a week. Most of the time, I don't plan my meals and when I am crunch for time I pulled the George Foreman grill out. My other appliances sit in the cupboard. I may pull one out now and again. My blender sat in my cupboard for 2 years. I just started using it a month ago for my smoothies. So how about you, what small appliance you cannot do without?

The one small Kitchen appliance I cannot do without is my Pampered Chef Mandolin slicer with 4 differnt attachments. It slices thin or thicker, shreds, and juliennes. I can cut up onions faster, usually before I have a chance to start crying.

I don't think I have ever seen the Pampered Chef Mandolin slicer.

Check it out at www.pamperedchef.com under products. It is now called the Ultimate Mandoline. It is worth the price. since I have bought it, quite some time ago, I have now seen others in stores now and then. I am not sure how they are.

I couldn't do without my food mixure for baking as really couldn't face doing it all by hand. And for a winter appliance I rely on my liquidisor to make easy work of tasty home made soups. Amazingly I have become completely dependant on my little Greek coffee pot which is known as a 'brik' and sits directly on the hotplate for my coffee addiction. My electric grill is pretty useless for grilling so what is a George Foreman grill?

I cannot do without my Kitchen Aid mixmaster. I do have the Foremnan Grill but the motor ran out and besides I like my meat flavorful and grilling just leaves in dry, but I like to bake and it is easier to put some eggs, flour, butter etc. and come up with something special. I did not use it at first because well I was scared of breaking it but now I use it a lot - well not as much recently because my sons have left home and there is just me and my husband.

I kept hinting my kids to buy me a Kitchen Aid Mixmaster, and they have not. I would really love one of those.

It's hard to choose just one. My coffee pot for sure, since I use it every day. For cooking, I would really have a hard time if I didn't have my crock pot. I use it at least once or twice a week, especially in the summer since it does not create a lot of heat in the kitchen. After the crock pot would be my blender, since I use that almost as often as the crock pot.

I have a crock pot, but I hardly ever use it. I don't have any crock pot recipe.

For me it is definitely my microwave oven. I have had one for about 18 years and last winter it broke down and we had to go without one for about a month. I never realized how often I actually rely on having one. It was so hard when I had to reheat food, and I always make my instant coffee and tea using the microwave too. I use it for actual cooking sometimes and not just reheating. We make microwave popcorn all the time so we had to go without that too. I have a George Foreman grill too, but one side doesn't heat up anymore so I haven't used it for months. The one I have is the older model. The new ones are much better as you can remove the grill plates to soak them in hot, soapy water in the sink. With my model you just have to keep scrubbing and wiping and scrubbing and rinsing....over and over until you get it clean. What a pain in the neck! The infomercials make it look a lot easier than it really is. Two other great appliances are my food processor and blender. I love both of these. I also make smoothies in my blender and my own cream free "ice cream" in my food processor.

Whether you are cooking veg or non-veg., whether you are using fruits or vegetables, the one kitchen appliance you cannot do without is the KNIFE!!!! It can't be any other one. Knife is absolutely essential and the one kitchen applaince you cannot do without.

You are right to certain extent. I don't quite think of it as an appliance though.

I would have to say the coffee pot. I use it daily and can't wait to get up in the morning and make coffee. Have been this way my entire adult life. It's about the only thing I crave when first waking up. Not much of a coffee drinker throughout the day and definitely not in the evening.

I know what you mean about the coffee pot. I drink coffee, but I stop drinking it everyday.

For me it would have to be my knife that my dad gave me. It is suppose to be the worlds strongest knife that cuts anything. So far it has served me well as it does seem to cut anything. I have had it for about 18 months and it has never needed sharpening. For my partner it would be the kettle as he loves his tea he can not go without his tea for longer than half an hour.

I have a couple of knives now that need sharpening so I understand what you mean about having one that you don't have to worry about sharpening.

oh I agree with you 100% with the George. I absolutely love mine. The other is the microwave, more for defrosting than cooking.
