My friend is left-handed person, he's always scolded by his mother 'coz in our belief left is used for doing things relating to dirty works as holding the garbage and washing private parts of the body after releasing stool or etc., on the other hand right is for exclusive purposes such as eating, shaking hands with friends, giving foods or lending something to somebody (subject to exception in some cases). Right means to show respect. This is in our belief.
But being a left-handed, my friend, he could write very nice and so clear cat, he draws almost perfect. This talent makes him very popular in our city.
How about you?

Hello Zearah. I am right-handed and I do draw and paint. But my oldest daughter is left-handed, and a very skilled nurse who can also draw well, knit, and has beautiful penmanship. Most of us are born with a natural skill for using one hand over the other, or even both hands equally well. While I respect your beliefs, I myself do not hold them, as both hands are equally important. One is not good and the other bad, for me :)

i am right handed. my parents trained me to be...i heard somebody before saying that if a child is left handed he/she is not taught by his/her parents...but i don't think so... but maybe its true coz being right handed or left handed is something that we just learn and grew up with...if in our childhood days we used to use our left in writing and we are not corrected, then we will be comfortable with it until we grow up...
about your belief, well that;s not new to me coz i also hear that from my grandparents...that's why they train us to use right...
but to all left handed, well that;s what they want and they are comfortable with it so nothing's wrong...and its good that your friend can draw very well with his left...me, i always wanted to learn to write well with my left, but i just can't. i can write but it looks like a "chicken scratch" and can't even draw beautifully with my right...so i think your friend really have a good talent and skill...

Hello Ckyera!
You might not be good in draw or the like, but I'm sure the proper training you've obtained from your parents, I guess, is much more worth of it than of being talented to draw, yes in my side, a proper guidance from parents will reflect who you are in the present, how you deal with other people in your everyday life. So I'm happy to hear that you've undergone of those training regarding with the usage of right hand rather than left hand (in some particular cases). I thought this belief of us is applicable only to moslems. You had given me an idea with this.

I'm left handed - but I'm not very good at drawing! I can scribble- does that count? =P
People do compliment me for my neat handwriting, though I've met other lefties who are not-so-neat. What I've heard about lefties - they are creative and smart. ;-) Did you know that Albert Einstein and Leonardo Da Vinci were lefties? YEAP! Smart huh?
That's why I'm proud to be a lefty. Though it's tough in this right-handed world. Something are just not made for us. That's why we're smart too though because we have to learn how to adapt from the get-go.
Cheers!

You are in. Excellence in any field is counted. Yes, I heard that many people say left-handed are gifted for being creative and smart! But a good work is not associated only to all left-handed, yeah! There are right-handed who are also best in some field and even in drawing too.

I'm right handed, but my two bosses are all left handed,I admit that they are very smart and creative. But this is not a direct reason. They are very hard-working in their youth. That's why they can get such great achievement today.
By the way,My uncle is a famous drawer, but he is also a right handed,he also get success totally base on his diligence & perseverance. So it is no relation with left handed.

I agree that left handed people are artistic and creative. I'm right handed I can draw but I don't know how to paint. My classmate in Elementary and College are ambidextrose they can write both of their hands which is very amazing. I wonder how they can do that. They are our secretary in our class they are in charge in writing in blackboard. If they are tired in writing in lefthand they switch to their other hand I tried to imitate them but I can't do that. Lefthanded people are excel in arts and in Math.

I think the body language and style of a left handed person is really cool. I don't think that i know any left-handed person who has good sketching skills but they surely have skills. I have observed that a right handed person has a very less control over his left hand and leg but a left handed person pretty much has the same control of his right hand and leg as that of left. So its an advantage being a left handed..... your friend's mom should re- programme herself and think about the goods of being left handed....

Yeah, actually lately my friend had just send an invitation for a party heading for his winning of another competition here in our place and I'm surprised 'coz her mother will spend a lot for the gatherings. Her mother planned to invite all their relatives and friends. Now, it has a changed!

I am right handed but I type with both of my hands so does that make me left handed and right handed?
I'm good at drawing simple things, like flowers, people, houses, shapes. I'm also good at copying drawings, like copying drawings of cartoon characters in a comic book.
Also, I can be creative if I want to.

I'm a LEFTIE!!!! And I must admit that my hand-writing is neat to be consider left-handed because my dad, who's also left handed, doesn't have neat handwriting!!! As for drawing, not so good, BUT I can crochet and do other arts and craft things, does that count???? Anyways I feel blessed to be a Leftie because we're rare and people tend to put us into stereotypes and we prove them wrong everytime. YEAAAA FOR LEFTIES!!!!!!!!

I'm totally left handed. Lol. I'm decent at drawing, but not really too good at writing. My hand writing kinda sucks. I don't think the hand you use really has much to do with it. I think you could be good at something eithe rway if you practice a lot. Lol.

I am right handed and I can not draw but I have been complimented on my penmenship.
My brother-in-law is a lefty - his penmenship is horrible. I remember this one time when he and my sister were in college and he had to write a check for my sister because she was so sick. The check was for my mom, and when my mom received the check, she called my sister panicked because she thought that my sister must be horribly sick to be writing so horribly! LOL. But even though he gets an F in handwriting, he gets a B for artwork (and mathematics - he is a math teacher now). So that so far goes to prove your theory.
HOWEVER - my boyfriend is a righty and he is the most amazing artist I have ever seen.

Hi,
i'm a lefty. i do most of jobs with my left hand. my handwritings is really bad and i can't draw at all. always get C for my art class. but i'm quite good in mathematics. when i grow up, i always get scolded from my teacher just because i always raised my left hand when teacher asked a question. it's our culture here(maybe it's an Asian culture) that using a left hand for anything is considered improper. even if you want to get your balance from the cashier using the left hand, you should asked for apologize because you are using the left hand. other stuff such as, shake hand or receiving gift using a left hand is also considered a 'taboo'. but as a left handed, i cannnot help it. it is default. my left hand is like automatically move first if i want to get something from other person.sometimes i hate this kind of culture.

Hello I sense that you're new right! I'm so happy whenever I see a new 'coz I am also new, just few days maybe ahead of you, yes you're a lefty but you are good as I observed. The way you presented your message, I'm sure you'll earn big. Yeah, you're on the right move. Keep it up and you'll get a higher points.
Whether you're a lefty or right - handed as long as you do right things for sure you're right and correct!
Good luck and happy mylotting!

i'm a lefty and do most of my daily jobs(writing, eating, holding stuff,etc..) using my left hand. my mother is a left handed and i'm the only one in my siblings who is left handed. i cannot draw and my handwriting is not so neat. the theory about left handed people are good in handwriting and drawing seems like not applicable to me. i would like to share my experience growing up as a lefties kid. when i was in school, i always get scolded by my teacher because when she asked any question i will put up my left hand to answer. she thought that it is really impolite for me to raise my left hand. so i have to teach myself to put up my right hand. other situation like taking balance from the cashier or receiving anything from other person, it is really impolite if i'm using the left hand. i have to apologize immediately for doing so. that's how my culture treat the lefties. sometimes i think it is not fair because we, lefties can't help ourselves from using the left hand because the left hand is like automatically move faster than the right hand if we want to receive something from other people.

Yeah, you have a point.
And I can relate to your story because here in our place the same belief we have as to left hands how and when should it be used,
there is a standard of norm and using of left hand is only for some purposes that a right hand cannot.
Almost all the positive works are associated to the right hand should be as per belief our belief.
But left hand, it is concomitant to right hand, both hands are equally important in a human.
Thank you for sharing your information here,
Happy mylotting

I'm a lefty and proud of it! I don't think lefties are better artists than righties, and I don't know many lefties that have legible penmanship. Maybe that's because we are taught from a right-handed perspective in school. I always thought they didn't know what to do with lefties when I was growing up. We had to learn to use right handed things, like scissors. As a result, I'm actually a bit ambidextrous.
I had no idea that lefties were viewed differently in other cultures. That's very interesting. Which culture is this?

I'm left handed. I don't draw very well but do other things just fine. I have never
heard of using the left hand for dirty jobs. Maybe this is why so many teachers used
to try to get kids to use their right hands?

I'm sorry for using such term as "dirty job", actually right hand means do right, while left hand is use to do all that are not right(but with exception in some points) for there are times we do both for eating right for spoon and left for fork. It's hard to detailed this terms. We could refer to it in practical way.

I am a right handed person. But yes there is feeling that right hand is some what precious for most of the people.. Thats left with sentiment of the people..I dont think a lefty has a special advantage of good drawing because of the hand he uses..I guess your friend is real talented and he is left is your observation.

Yes that's true! Based on various opinions I got here mostly left-handed were inborn good in such field. But there are also right-handed person who can do the same. To end whether right or left-handed all are equal in chances and opportunity to do such task of being good in draw or artist.

Hello,
I am right hand person, but only writing or doing something else... however, if I hold stuff or carry stuff then my left hand will step forward. I wash my secret part of my body with right hand tho, so that mean whoever that shake my hand will get all the poo??? lolz... just kidding.
I used both hands. My dad is also both hands too, he write with right hand but doing something else with left hand... I dont know why but he is good with them so much.

Good day!
my cousin is a left-handed and she happened to be a fine arts graduate and now employed as graphic artist. Her husband is a right-handed person and also a graduate of fine arts. both of them sometimes join exhibits at malls and usually conducting exhibit of their own masterpieces.
I believe that passion for drawing doesn't got something to do with if you're a left-handed or right-handed.
have a nice day!

That is awesome that one can draw with either hand. I can write with both hands, I use both with simple jobs. I also draw, though that is done with my right hand.
I know those beliefs, thing is I don't feel that either hand should be singled out as being different from the other. Reason I say this is because no matter what country or religion you have bad people that do things with either hand. So why does one out weigh in the other when it comes to this? I don't believe there is a difference. Its the person not the hands that makes the difference.

Good explanation! You've shared a helpful thought though I would agree with you. Here in our country without exception to any religion, this right hand is really means for good and respect purpose, infact even in school teachers here do teach same way. But left-handed is not condemned.

You are good in some way other than drawing, I'm sure, everyone has a unique talent from the other. And for the purpose of this discussion we could be able to determine now that indeed left-handed persons mostly were inborn artist and smart. So you are, though you're originally right handed, something you could do with excellence and better if not best among all.
