cheekysuze Thanks for the advice :- ) I am way too old to be dependent on my parents as well. I'm married with kids! As for the job, I literally couldn't afford to keep it. Odd, huh? But I have other things I can do for money. :- )

cheekysuze That's a good point. I ended up celebrating by taking my kids to a u-pick blueberry farm. Lots of giggles, little cash. It's a win-win!

cheekysuze In the States, many people order off the couple's Registry. Some give cash though. It just depends on preference. I wish my parents had bought me a car or house when I got married but I think paying for the wedding itself was more than generous!
