Is it considered okay to wear a white dress to a rehearsal dinner?

I've heard that wearing a white dress to a wedding is a no-no, as the bride wears white. But what about the rehearsal dinner? Is it okay, as a guest, to wear a white dress to the rehearsal dinner?

It is okay to wear a white dress to a rehearsal dinner because it is not yet an actual wedding day. Guests only advised not to wear a white dress during a wedding day. During rehearsal dinner it is okay to wear anything you like as long as it is formal.

Ive never actually been to a wedding or a wedding rehearsal so I really dont know the rules...but I think you should be able to wear what ever colour dress you want especially if its just for rehearsal.
