Yesterday noon, i went back for a nap from the office.Just when on the half way, the sandals broke. Then the sun is so strong overhead, there is no way, i had to walk on naked feet back.oh,my god, the road was so hot that the heat hurt my feet.
Which reminded me to recall one thing happened during the university. There were three girls in our dorm room. One evening we three went downstairs to have a walk after supper. at abt 9pm,we came back.but just on the half way back, one of my roommates' shoes broke. she refused to go on walking. so,i gave her my shoes.
if it was you, will you do so? or u feel i should not do so,and there maybe some other better ways to deal with?

Broken Sandals,eh? yeah i did have one or two but it happen in the middle of the street, the only thing i did as not to lift my other feet to prevent people from seeing a laughing sandal. i simply slide my feet while walking luckily no one seemed to notice. and when i got home that's the time i put rugby and glue in the sandal fix it.

When you gave your roomate your shoes, did this mean you walked barefoot?
Anyway, I have experienced that, actually I was on my way home then suddenly my sandal broke, it had a lesion somewhere and ripped. Good thing I was near the road when it happened. I just hailed a taxi and went home.

When I moved to Romania in May 2006 I bought sandals there at a ridiculous low price from my West Europena point of view. So I made a culture to wear it as often and as long as possible. The price was about 2 Euro and they probably came from Turkey. In July 2008 they broke on the Black Sea beach. Now I wear leather sandals produced in Romania at a price of about 30 Euro. Quality is excellent and would cost me over here in Germany at least 100 Euro (about 130 US$). I will come back to this discussion when they break.

well, that was nice of you to have done that.
would i have done it ?
i guess it depends on how close the friend is and his general attitude as such.if he is someone who acts smart and is showing off most of the time, i would let him bear the brunt. otherwise,i will offer him my footwear.

Hi, yolanda19191. Not that I can think of have I ever broken my sandals on the way while I am out. I have broken them while I was inside of my home. I remember my strap coming off of my sandals. So, I just could not wear my sandals again. That was nice of you to give your friend your sandals so that she could go on walking. That was very generous of you.

you are so good to give your shoes to your friend! well i think i will do the same coz i can never leave her there alone...and as long as its okay with you, then its okay!
i also have experienced having my sandals broken on the way! and oh my god! its something that's really annoying! i am in the market then, and i know that my slippers is already old and sooner or later will be broke but i ignored it and still use it, after a long walk, i thought it is still okay and so i didn't buy a new one even if i saw many in the sidewalk...and now, after passing on the line of slipper's stores and when i am about to cross the way...it breaks! and i can't use it properly anymore, i don't know what to do coz i am alone at that time, i did not put it off but instead, i walk in a sliding way! hahaha so embarrassing! and i use my feet to keep the slippers intact and it takes me so much time before i get to the slipper store! i can't forget that incidence coz i look like a fool walking with that broken slipper and i can see some people looking at me, maybe they think that i have walking disability...

I would have done what you did....give her my shoes. I don't have a problem walking bare foot so it wouldn't bother me. I also tend to do without so others don't have do.

i could relate to your roommate's situation. That is so kind of you to offer help.
I experienced my sandals broke when I was at the mall. It was so shameful at the same time awkward because I have to walk slowly, Good thing I was on the mall I was able to buy another one.

I will do the same, she's my friend so I won't leave her. I have my own experience about that too. I'm walking alone to buy some food, it's lunch time so the sun is really hot that moment. Then when i'm going back home my sandal broke, so I need to walk using my own feet, I walked so fast cause I can't take the heat. But I'm still confident because no one see me that time. Hehe
