I recently posted a discussion about my training in an island. I was housed in a resort during the course of the training and was of course able to enjoy the amenities of the resort. The great thing is that the resort has a swimming pool and of course a sugary white beach. I of course took the opportunity to enjoy both. In your case, which do you prefer? swimming pool or seawater? I have added an image of the pool, you could see the background of the sea.

My friends and I are planning to see Bantayan Island late this year. I hope the trip pushes through. I am more of a sea-water person. I'm a water baby, but I get this certain kind of calmness and peace whenever I am at or near the ocean. Staying and wading in the pool kind of bores me. It's different when you're out there with nature.

Really, well that would be great. I am sure that you have heard that Bantayan is a great place to be. Well, I guess you will definitely be enjoying the seawater of the island later on.

Yes, Bohol is also a great place to be. There are plenty of tourist to go to. I always go to Bohol every month since I also conduct training there. Just a week ago I went there. I have also brought my wife and son there for a vacation and of course we went to chocolate hill, Loboc river, hanging bridge and many more. Of course, we stayed overnight in the beach before we went back to Cebu. I am scheduled to go back on the 25th of this month for another training. Well, its like a working vacation....

When I was looking at your photo, it kind of reminded me of Bohol. I could only think that Bantayan still has virgin beaches...

what a great place to work i think i would actually be happy to go to work. I prefer a swimming pool, one because if it goes in your mouth you dont have a salty taste and if it goes in your eyes its doesn't sting as much as if you were in the sea. Also i dont like the thought on standing on a fish even though its hard to because they swimm away but i dont like the thought of swimming with creatures and then you cant tell if a bit of plastic is in fact a jelly fish. lol I so enjoy the beach though

Ah yes, usually when you swim in the sea the salt does create an irritating effect on the eyes. Of course you would probably encounter some things that may hurt you like sear urchin or perhaps jellyfish. Well, both are enjoyable.

Hi jpso138, it’s always more fun to swim in the sea. I like to have fun swimming in the spacious sea. Besides swimming I could enjoy watching the beautiful seascapes at near or far distance. After tired of soaking in the water for quite some time, I could enjoy having a brief and relaxing stroll along the beach, especially if strolling in the oncoming gentle breeze I like go swimming during evening most of the time, for I like watching the fascinating sunset scene while having fun in the cold and comfortable water. I seldom have fun swimming in the sea during afternoon, as I dislike the scorching sun above. Yeah the fierce light always makes me to feel dizzy and uncomfortable Happy posting and have a great day!

Yeah, it’s always great pleasure to have fun swimming in the sea. The pool, anyway is rather restricted. We could move freely in the seawater freely. But we have to be aware that it's a high risk to swim alone far away from the beach. For the sake of safety it’s wise to have companions when swimming in the deep sea water in distance. After tired of swimming it’s really enjoyable to have fun on the sandy beach. Yeah, just like what you mentioned here, building sand castle or to get ourselves buried with sand is really full of joy. Thanks for awarding the BR and sorry for the belated gratitude expressing here. Happy posting!

Well those are some of the things that you cannot enjoy in a swimming pool. There are a lot of things that will always amaze you in if you prefer the sea. If you also get tired of swimming, you can also enjoy the beach and perhaps bury yourself, or perhaps build a sand castle. The sunset also is an added plus. Have a great day likewise.

This is awesome. It feels like training plus holiday for you, I'm sure.. As for me, I'd choose the crystal beach anytime... I have always been a fan of the beach, and I love to swim too. I get great satisfaction, 100% relaxation and a tan throughout the year, LOL. Good for you and I hope you would continue to succeed in your career. And good luck in your training if you are still at it..

well, i am sure it would be the swimming pool. it would make me feel a lot more secure. i would believe that the water pressure would be a lot more in a beach or sea and it is not so safe unless you are a very good swimmer.

Well, the swimming pool thus have its advantages in so far as safety is concerned. There are no waves and of course you can always familiarize yourself with the depth. There are also no sear urchin or jellyfish that might create problems as you swim.

I agree with you. Since the pool has no salt and obviously your bouyancy is quite different. Though in the sea you are affected by waves and current which will also affect your survival.
15 Nov 09
pool is a best training ground for strength in swimming, power in floating and any skills you like in for surviving in depth of sea water. survival is important specially in sea disasters. train in tasteless water survive in salty water.

I don't like swimming in the sea. I think it's dirty and I'm kind of scared by fish. Plus my girlfriend has this beautiful big, heated pool where I can go swimming every day. It's great!

Wow, that is great. That would be something else when you have a swimming to go on to and enjoy with the one you love. However, the sea water in our area is very nice with clean sparkling seawater and of course white sandy beaches. It would also be pleasurable to sit with your girlfriend and watch the sunset in the shoreline.

Yes, I agree. Even if the seawater is clean and the sand is somewhat dark, or black, the sea will eventually look dirty and it you will certainly not gonna like to swim. Well then, best regards to you and your girlfriend.

Maybe I'll just do that than! Haha! No really, I'd love to do that someday. Our beach is more or less dirty... Well it looks that way because our beaches contain some sort of mud. It's not dirty but it colors the sea green/brown. Not that pleasant to swim in...

Personally I think both have their challenges and likes and dislikes. For most it depends on how deep you like to swim, what type of water you want to swim in, and the type of place you prefer being as well. For me, I actually enjoy both about just as much. I do have Health issues due to being Diabetic with my skin so I do not swim much anymore, but if it is somewhere like an Ocean give me that over a pool anyday for sure.

You are right. Each have something to offer depending on your want. I think it is much safer for you to swim in the swimming pool considering that its smooth and there are no rocks that might cause wounds, in your case, it is very important to avoid wounds, even small ones. Well, do take care and enjoy.

actually, the waves were the one thing I did enjoy, did some body surfing and the like, but things like jelly fish and so on, those really didn't excite me...

Hahaha, you certainly have a point there. I am sure that in the pool you will obviously know how deep it is prior to swimming which makes you feel safe. Also, no waves to disturb your swimming.

These days you can have both...you can have a saltwater pool filtering system installed on your swimming pool in your back yard.

Yes I have heard about this. I think this is such a great way to enjoy both...

yeah that is what I have heard. There is no chlorine in the water, and the saltwater is not as salty as the ocean is, so it doesn't burn your eyes the way going to the beach does either. I am not sure exactly how it works to keep your pool water clean, but it has something to do with the molecules of stuff in the salt. The filtering system breaks them down somehow according to something I saw on TV, but I haven't done any personal research on the issue, so I don't know any of the details first-hand.

Very nice. I would certainly do both too. At night I would definately use the pool because it is not safe to swim in the ocean at night. But during the day I would enjoy the ocean. I love swimming in the ocean and jumping in to the waves, it is so much fun. But poos are nice too and you don't have to worry about jelly fish stings or possible shark attacks although shark attacks are rare.

Yes, both are great. However, swimming in the pool is much safer if we talk about safety considering that there is not much to affect you. No jellyfish, stingrays, sharks. However, swimming in the sea is really enjoyable and fun, most especially when the sand is white and the water is clear.

I do hope that you will also have the opportunity again.

I prefer to swim on a swimming pool because its safer than a sea.I am not really than confident than i am a good swimmer too.But when it comes to good sceneries and picture taking i would love to have an image on a very beautiful beach resort like panglao bohol.

Ah yes, there is not much problems in the swimming considering that there are no waves and no sea creatures to hurt you. But of course, if you are after the scenery, then the beach is obviously a great place to be. I do agree that Panglao, Bohol is is nice. In fact there are so many great beaches in the Philippines.

same as you did, i think i would try both. swimming in a pool and in the sea gives a different experience. if i really have to chose between the two, i would rather go swimming in the sea. unlike the pool, the sea is so open so it gives you the freedom that a pool can't give. you can even ride a boat or a banana boat in the sea.

Yes, the sea water does give you more options as compared to the swimming pool. Although in the sea there are a lot of factors to consider in so far as safety is concerned but its quite wonderful to be at sea rather than in the pool.

For me I would prefer seawater. Because based on my experienced when i was in Maldives Meeru Island resort, My friends and I visited different resorts every friday off of work. I can really see the real beauty of the seawater.. It is very lovely and very fascinating white sand. So guys seawater is the best place to unwind and to have a peace of mind and most especially for honeymooners...

Hi Pearl, its very interesting to know that you have been in Maldives. I was also there. They do have great beaches and the water is very clear. I am sure that anyone who goes there would surely find it fascinating and captivating. The only thing is that you have to save money for such travel considering that its quite expensive there. But, its really worth it.

i never try to swim on the sea before... so i will prefer to swim in the pool... i don't like to swallow sea water or getting the sea water into my eyes as it will be very painful... i'm not really a good swimmer anyway and now by reading your post i think i have to start swimming again to keep me fit... good luck with your training... take care and have a nice day...

Yes there are certain things that would give us some bad experience when swimming. But yes, despite this, it is really nice to enjoy swimming in the sea for as long as you know how to swim. Thank you very much for the luck and wishes. Best to you!

There is something really lovely about swimming in the sea, the way that the waves work - you always come out of it feeling different and very refreshed I think. I don't live by the sea so I only swim in the sea on holidays so it could be that is what makes it special. I wnjoy swimming in swimming pools also, and especially lidos which are out of doors as swimming in the fresh air is very nice if the weather is good. In fact I would love to go swimming now as it is a beautiful sunny day here but can't because I'm supposed to be working...

Well there is really something about the sea that you will definitely love. Somehow it beckons you to come and take a dip. Though swimming pools are also very enjoyable. Well, you better continue working first, you might end up in to trouble. Then by the time you are off, go ahead and enjoy the waves... Best to you!

i think sea water to swim is better and also nicer than swimming pool when it is sumemrtime or you are in vacation too!!So swimming pool is good too but normally the water is too much artificial so..i think the better exprience you should have in the seaside and sea water too..

i choose swimming pool. because sea water is huge. ... and it is very salty. and there are many germs. yuck. while in swimming pool. its clean.

Yes, the sea is quite vast also very salty. With respect to the swimming pool, you may say that its clean. But you have to consider that its cleaned by a chemical which if not properly measured will also cause problems. Well, for as long as their is proper maintenance, then the pool would be a great place to be as compared to the sea.

Yes it does look clean since its very clear. But actually it also matters if the pool is properly maintained. They have to measure the amount of chlorine to put to clean the water.
