I really am panicking. How would you react?

I am really panicking when I realized that I'm short this month. You see, I don't really have a very stable job. I'm not working an 8-5 job but have been earning just enough. Until I decided to let go of my few days (like 3x a week) for a teaching job in my local University. It was okay for a while, until I realized that I am not going to get much for my teaching job and I would have gotten more if I stuck with my other source of income. Now, I'm really panicking since I know my income wouldn't be enough for this month (I just started this month). I'm really sad and worried how I would be able to make my ends meet. What would you do if you were in this situation? How would you react with such a disappointment and you know that you can't just quit and get back that other job and work on it full time because you signed a contract. Perhaps I was so much blinded by the thought that finally I am going to teach at my University that I failed to really check how much I'd be getting. What would you if you're in my situation?

Wow! That is a heavy weight to carry. I am also having trouble making ends meet as I am in school and staying home with my two kids and my husband is the only bread winner. I have been trying to come up with ways to get extra money. We have decided to have a yard sale. We have a lot of stuff laying around the house that we really just do not need. I am also going to try to find a part time job. Maybe you could work somewhere else just a few nights a week. If you do not want to commit to something you could try picking up odd jobs. Maybe an elderly person nearby needs help with chores or a friend needs a sitter occasionally. I know that those sound like "kids" jobs but hey...whatever pays the bills. If the university job is what will make you happy then you should try some of these other ways of bringing in cash until the teachimg job really starts to pay. Don't sacrifice your dreams for money.

I know how you feel. What's worst is that my teaching job is stressing me out! Whew! I spend more time at night studying for the day's lessons.

Yeah you're right, I know. But it's too late to mope about these things in the past right now. Not to mention that teaching in universities isn't like any employment because they're actually going to compute different rates for different categories of teaching staff. I don't know how much my rate would be yet, but I'm hoping it isn't lower than what I'm supposedly earning. I'm just trying to think negatively now after getting info of how much these 'usually' are.

i believe that God's grace is sufficient for all of us and He will not let His children goes hungry or without food as long as we try our best... so i think what you can do is to keep on praying and try to get extra shift as many as possible that you can handle... that's all i can suggest as that is what i do in the past... good luck... take care and have a nice day...

Since you are a teacher, could you earn some extra money tutoring in your subject?

It's difficult to tutor because I'm teaching college, there's no need for tutoring without credits for their units.

I'm still praying for more and doing more as well. But I don't think I can manage this month's bills. But still, I hope some type of a miracle could help.

just relax friend. Sine you are in that situation, you can just lend money from your friends. Also, minimize your expenses like buying cheaper things. I think you should have an extra income if your salary is not enough for you. Juts relax. Breath in and reath out slowly and think.

the only thing i can do in this situation is work a lot of overtime so working a double shift on the days that you do work. The most important thing if you have a mortage is to pay your monthly outgoing for that and then worry about the rest later. maybe you could apply for a grant because you are studying

Offer tutoring. If you have students that aren't quite sure on the subject your teaching or are struggling, offer to tutor them for a few bucks. Of course I'd make sure that it was perfectly legal to do this in accordance to college rules, and in accordance to the laws of your country. Also you could try online tutoring to help you earn a little more. Pcmoneymaker is a great site to go to, and it has lots of earning possibilities. Try to post on here more, and that may help a bit. Not sure the conversion of US Dollars to your money but if it's more then it'd be beneficial to you.

Go out and get a 2nd job until you start earning enough online to pay your bills. You have to be able to sustain yourself. Sorry to hear of your situation. I have been there more than once. I work 2 jobs and online now :(

I am kinda in your situation I am very short this month. The thing to remember is most bills willlet you be a month behind without shutting off. So pay rent and whatever else you can and try not to worry about the rest. I panic all the time but I have 2 kids to feed and the state will only help so much so I start to cut off things I don't need much. Good luck!

If I were in your situation, I would go out right now and try to find a second job. I know that it's hard to find any job nowadays, even a bag boy job is hard to get. Just keep trying to find a second job! Good Luck!
