OK - I hope I am not the only one here who is over the intentional misspelling of words in the discussions. I have noticed that my 13 year old niece does it all the time when she texts me.
I am talking about using 2day instead of today, or the number 4 for the word for, and the letter n for the word and. I can understand how it is easier when you are texting because it is less "punches", however, I just can't stand it anymore! And now with full keyboard phones, that is no longer an excuse.
I feel like when you are posting a comment or starting a discussion, you are trying to explain yourself or your point of view. You don't want to sound like a fool...and when you intentionally substitute letters for words or constantly say no for know, I just want to scream outloud!
Now, I am not talking about the acronyms like LOL, OMG, LMAO. I still find that those add a certain "feeling" to a discussion or text due to the fact that the senders emotion can't be heard.
Am I the only one who feels like this? I CAN'T BE...CAN I???!!!???

I do not text people but I do see this type of "language" on the internet all the time and I think it is ridiculous. It is no wonder that so many people in North America do not even know how to read or write anymore. No one knows how to spell anything. To me it is just being lazy when I see this type of writing. How much longer could it possibly take to write out the words in full?! I also don't like the LOLs. I mean would you actually say Laugh out Loud? I doubt it, so why write it?

I feel that the LOLs are more of a description of an action or feeling that you can't hear or see due to the fact that it is a written conversation. Like when people write***rolling eyes*** - it kind of helps you "see" the person on the other end. So even though I would never say to someone "I'm laughing out loud", I do write it so that the person on the other end knows that is what I am doing.

well i think mylot does keep a close check on the spelling and grammar and i believe those who write phonetic or 4 for the word for will not be paid or will be paid less - because this is mentioned in the dos and don'ts of mylot faqs!
So don't worry there are many of us who don't like such acronyms or short forms as this spoils the fun of reading a comment :)
