Have you ever had a scary time?
This weekend my baby girl was born. I had a home birth but went off in an ambulance because I lost two and half liters of blood. I didn't want to go but thought if I didn't I might die. I was so weak that I was carried down my stairs in a chair. It was a fast journey to the hospital in Bristol. That evening my blood pressure was tested and my pulse every half hour and all sorts of medical people came to see me. I had to have a test to see if my kidneys were still working. I couldn't sleep for I was in much pain. All night ladies screamed in labor and I heard some of them shouting 'no' and 'help me'. The next day I fainted in the bath and they picked me up and carried me back to bed. The following day I got a bit better and luckily got taken to my local hospital for two nights. I am back home but my mum has to live with me until I recover. I will be weak and need to rest for six weeks.

You certainly had a frightening experience with the birth of your daughter. Your mum will take excellent care of you, and don't try to do things yourself until you are good and strong enough. Take care max.

Whoa! So what are you doing up mylotting instead of getting all the rest you needed??? This is me and my hands on my waist looking down at you! lols!
Good thing youre OK now...get as much rest as you can. Its not easy giving birth. I also gave birth at home. I had an hour labor and i thought im only about to poop but then theres blood going out already, so i called my next door neighbor mid-wife and she IE'd me..then she shouted its the HEAD! I gave birth at home. thats scary, i dont know that to do but then my partner just told me to push when she tells me to push. thats what i did and the baby came out an hour after. I never thought it will only take an hour. I never really signed up for house birth..good thing it worked fine for me.

I have had a few scary times, but nothing like you. I'm sorry to hear that there were some complications. But you are back home now and mom is there helping and everything will be fine:)
I had both my babies at the hospital but delayed going as much as possible. I really felt it would be negative for me to hear people screaming. With my daughter I delayed as much as I could but in the end the contractions were too close together so I gave in and went to the hospital. She was born about 7 hours later which was a long time but thankfully there was no one else giving birth during that time.
With my son I also delayed a bit specially since the contractions didn't seem to "mean business" :) He was born basically as I got to the room. They sent hubby down to park the car and have a coffee because it wasn't time yet. Hubby decided just to park the car and go up to my room but he was too late, Andre was already born when he got there:)
Do make sure you follow the doctor's instructions and rest, it's very important
Big hug

Poor Max, you went through hell and came back to life now.Look dear, you need food which is rich in iron.Iron strengthens the immune system and you will recover easier. You should eat eggs, liver, raisins, oatmeal, prune juice, apricots(dried).Take care of yourself.

Hello maximax8 , no, nothing like what you went through. I was only hospitalized one time. I wasn't even going to go to the hopspital but my mother tricked me by saying she was taking me to see a doctor. After the blood test came back I was imediately wheeled in to surgery to seal my perforated appendix which was slowly poisoning me. I had just went on vacation and I had to stay an extra week so I could see the doctor again for a two week post op appointment. Take care of yourself.

Hello Maximax,
It feels good to know that you are back home and I am sure you will recover fast. I always consider women are superior than men when it comes to bravery because only they can muster the courage to give birth to a child inside their woumb and then carry the little one inside them for 9 months!
Take good care of yourself and please keep us updated.

First of all congratulations on having a baby. I wish you get all the happiness you desire.
You are really brave. Currently I am going through a scary time. My friends(at least I thought that they were my friends) have turned against me due to some reason and so I am really going through a lot of stress. I don't know what they are thinking or planning. But look on the bright side, even though I have so much trouble I still find time to post a response on mylot.
