I wish I would have a pet rabbit. I like rabbit from my childhood. My dad happened to buy 2 rabbits for me while I was only 7 years old. But the 2 rabbits didn't get long with me as I was not taking good care of them. end up I gave the rabbits to one of my elder cousins. Now I have married and I have 2 kids. I hardly have any free time to take care any pets. My kids need my attentions 24 hours. Maybe when they grow older, they will ask me to buy a pet for them , lol...
I know my little girl love dogs... Sometimes she voices out and tell us she want a dog.
How about you? Are you a pet lover? Do you have any pets?

I like pets too, that is if for play only. They are soft, cute, ---. I like cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters. I also like fish, beautiful to watch. However, when it comes to really having them, we have to clean and take care of them, now that isn't fun anymore.

I really love animals. I have two miniature poodles called Secret and Magic. Secret is white with hidden black patches that show up when his furs grows. Magic is black. They have their fur trimmed every six to eight weeks. Secret will be five years old next month and Magic is three years old. They love walks along the riverside path, in the green fields and along the sandy beach. As a child my family had cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils and stick insects at different times. I achieved my dream to get a dog, now with two dogs I have double the pleasure.

that's great that you have two lovely poodles. So you trim the fur for them or the pet shop take over this task?

I used to have pets: chicks, rabbits, hamsters! Such lovely things. But when they pass away, it's a huge blow, it's like a part of me went with them. Was upset for quite some time. Hence am hesitant of having pets now though I would love a dog. I always hear interesting stories of pets from my friends and somehow wish I have one at home. Though the pain of losing them is just too great.

Is true, when we love the pet, we get sick if they leave us ., Maybe you have a bad experience hence you are now worry about getting a pet. No worry friends, as long as we as a master have give the best to our pet, I believe this is more than enough for them.

I have a pet dog. He is a cocker spaniel and his name is Kirby. He is about 8 months old.
I have had dogs all of my life, and when I was younger I also had a yellow bird named Tweety and a hamster named Brownie.
I was way too young to take care of the pets myself, so thank God my father is an animal lover like myself. He took care of all of our animals, but made me feel like I was too. I remember him teaching me how to properly bathe our dog Samantha.
Do you think your daughter can get a fish? They don't require too much extra attention and it would be a great opportunity for you to teach her some responsiblity and proper pet care tips.

Yes, we do have pets at home.. two shih tzu dogs named luke and sherbie.. but here in my own place, i have got a peruvian guinea pig and her name is Maxie.. she's special. why? because her right eye is not proportion to the other side.. it was a birth defect but it's not affecting her in anyway right now.. she looks happy and healthy.. =)

I love rabbits When I was living with my ex we had two rabbits, but when we broke up, I couldn't keep them, because I wasn't allowed to keep pets in my new apartment. Now I live in a house in the countryside, and I am really happy that I am able to keep pets here. My husband and I have 6 rabbits, and I love taking care of them and spending time with them. They live inside the house, but during the summer months we often take them to the garden. We also have a cat. She is wonderful cat, we got her from a shelter about half a year ago. In the future I want to buy some guineapigs. I had a guineapig when I was a child, but that was many years ago. I also hope to get a dog one day

Personally I have no attraction for pets. I have no problem in loving human beings and interacting with them!
I think, if you make a survey, pet lovers will outnumber non-lovers, provided people are quite affluent. I believe, love for pet comes with affluence. Where people make a hand to mouth existence, I think they will be hard pressed for taking care of their own livelihood more than anything else. But there may be exceptions.
Loving others without too much attachment is ideal for peaceful living. We normally find it difficult to live this way. When we love someone, we attach strings; we have expectations; we want loyalty; we want submissiveness; we want to boss over; we want to manipulate. When people understand our schemes, they may distance themselves from us.
That is not the case with pets. We love dogs because they are obedient to us; they are grateful to us; we can command them and they obey; they are submissive to us. Thus having animals as pets give us some psychological boost. This is my personal opinion. Many pet lovers may not like what I have said.
On another extreme, people develop too much of love on their pets. Some people love their pets more than their parents and spouses! Their attachment to their pets bring them grief and misery one day.

hiya, i would love a dog, cat or couple of rabbits but because i rent i just have two rats (they are actually very sweet little animals). i think dogs are the best pets for children - rabbits can make great pets but are more work than you'd think and they don't play in the way children usually like.

I have 2 cats, and I got them before my 2 kids were born. I've already told my daughter that we will not be getting the dog she is begging for until she can take care of it herself (by that time, she'll probably be on to bigger and better things, right? Maybe she'll forget about the dog thing?). As a child I had goldfish, gerbils, lizards and water frogs. I would love to have a chinchilla--I think they are just adorable, but keeping up with 2 kids and 2 cats is quite enough right now. Plus, a chinchilla can't cuddle with you like a cat can.
