Look at photo of my fresh picked; homegrown sald fixings, for dinner in a little bit. I labeled the photo so you know whats in it. Had a small banna pepper but it isn't ripe enough yet to eat. Going to add some cut up turkey breast meat to it as well. Yummm! When was the last time you had a fully homegrown sald?

I went out and picked a few leaves of some lettuce and put it on a sandwich yesterday. I'm not sure what kind it is, it stands straight up and the narrow leaves fan out close to the central stalk. It was good!

Hi Grandpa Bob. Your salad fixings look so fresh and yummy! The last time I had a fully home-grown salad was about 5 years ago when I was able to have a full-sized garden. Next year, though, I'm planting salad makings all in pots: lettuce, tomatoes, peppers. I am on my third early girl tomato from those in the pot and they are so delicious! Enjoy your salad :)

Years ago! When I moved about 4 years ago to where I am now, I don't have any room for a garden. I would love to have one and really thinking about one for next year.. This year it's just to late for one. I have seen alot of gardens and they are grown so nicely, sorta jealous actually...

It's been a very long time since I had a homegrown salad. The only thing that I have homegrown are green peppers and tomatoes.I did pick some gren peppers yesterday, but my tomatoes are still not ripe enough to pick. I see that you are allready picking your tomatoes. I wish mine were ready to pick.

And the brats we had are made at the store we buy them at daily. So; they were basically home made and VERY fresh as well. The best brats we've had in ages.

Hey Grandpa Bob! It's so hard to believe that it's only July
and a few months ago I was looking at all the snow in your
yard and now you have these beautiful veggies! How time flies!
As I look at them I just can't believe the costs of the produce
in the grocery store where I live! It is unbelievable what I
would pay for all that stuff and I wouldn't have any idea
where it came from and what awful stuff had been sprayed on
it! You are so making me want to move somewhere so that I
can have my own house with a garden! I really hope that one
day before I die I will have that wish come true! Enjoy your
wonderful veggies and know that I am extremely upset that I
can't grow my own right now!

I ate it at the desk as I did FaceBook and myLot activities. Here's a shot of my bowl. Added some balsamic vinergar and oil dressing and some spices. AHhh soooo good.

Oh, it has been ages since I have had a fully homegrown salad. My tomatoes are not even ripe yet, they just keep getting bigger and bigger. We went to Oklahoma for the Fourth to see my brother and sister in law, I had hopes that something would be ripe when I got back but there was nothing. . We picked banana peppers and put them in guacamole last week.

Both my banana and bell peppers are really slow to grow etc.
I've had one banana pepper.
There's a few small onmes on the plants right now though.
I see a couple tiny little bell peppers is all.

Wow that looks great! Sadly, I have never eaten a fully home-grown salad. We did have lettuce and tomatoes growing but the cucumber and onions we used to make salad were store-bought.
It looks like you know your stuff G'pa Bob- you should take a look at the post I just made about wanting to grow my own potatoes and vegetables- please share some of your wisdom!!!

I had a salad for dinner as well, but mine was not homegrown.
I do not have a green thumb at all, and don't even own a plant, let alone an amazingly beautiful garden that fruits!
Good for you Grandpa Bob!

That looks delicious. The last time for me was at dads. He has had a great crop of veggies this year and is now working with his okra plants. Love the bananna peppers and looks like you are going to have a great salad.
