I listen to mostly the Classic Rock and Heavy Metal and allt hat. Stuff like Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, W.A.S.P. and so on and on....and it can get on ppls nerves a bit, but I dont care. Althouhg there is the occaisional song my father or even mother likes, they dont disapprove of it, they wont/cant stop the music I listen to, and paretns shouldnt. Unless its more the eath/Norwegian Deahtl and stuff.

My parents listen to very different music than I do. We do not have the same tastes at all! We tolerate each other's taste, but would never go to a concert together! But since I don't live with them, it's not really an issue!

I like soft musics. My parents also like the soft musics. They don't have habit of listening musics but I have. Whenever they come to home and if music is going on, they get much relaxed as all of us like same kind of musics..

I feel for you. Neither of my parents can really get used to the music i like. I stay very current with rap & R n B songs. Which are just too out of style for my mom. I'm lucky that I no longer live with them because I wouldn't be able to listen to any of my music at home unless everyone's gone and that doesn't happen too much. Do you see your family a lot?

My mom is only 19 yrs. older than me so mostly we like the same kind of music. I like rock and country. My mother is more toward soft rock and my father (deceased) was more of a country kind of guy. My favorite musician is Boy George. I do really like a varied assortment of music but not much into the "headbanger music"

my dad is a bit on the oldies side so he only listens to oldies and some current "light" stuff because he's always listening to the radio while driving. my mom is more open to different genres and she listens to some emo and alternative music as well as some oldies stuff. i, on the other hand, listens to almost any genre and of course one of them is metal. my parents don't actually know why i listen to that genre. and i don't even try to explain because most parents wouldn't even get it. metal music before is different as compared to metal music now and for them, old school metal is already too loud. so when i'm at home, i don't play metal music anymore, except when i'm using earphones. but other than that, i pretty much play any genre at home. :)
