Tomorrow we remember the King of Pop. An artist, father, humanitarian, real person that leaves behind children, sisters, brothers...friends... fans... I am blocking off my day to stay home and watch the service and the responses. I can only imagine what it would be like to be in that room tomorrow. I really wish I could be there.... I also wish that he could see how much love there is in the world for him.
Have any MyLotters got tickets to go? Will you stay home to watch the service? Will you watch at home, work? On the TV or PC? What time will it be where you live?
After the service, please leave your comments here as to your thoughts on the event. It is so hard to say good-bye.... It is so incredibly unbelievable that Michael Jackson is gone forever.
The King of Pop still on Top!

I have to take the friend to the hospital for a 3-4 hour procedure tomorrow, but if we get back in time, yes, or perhaps they will have a tv nearby at the hospital, they might have it on there. It will be 1 pm my time in the US.
I remember the top of his career so well, so much talent, and like his song says: gone too soon.

I did watch the whole thing on TV, as we got home in time. I found it a very touching and special tribute. I thought Brooke Shields' eulogy was so tender and caring. And they showed so much of the video and music. His daughter, at the end, oh that about broke my heart!

That little girl had me running for some tissue paper. They were trying to make her say what she had to say out loud, but as one who has lost their own father, I felt her pain myself today and can only imagine what she is going through.

Savvy, bless your heart. You really do know then. My dad lived a long life, but is now passed on. I feel for those precious babies, and for you, too.

First being 60 I am not a Michael Jackson Fan. While I did and still do enjoy his early recordings with his brother's I was not into the type of music he sang much. I won't be watching and even if I were a fan I would not watch. I feel that the media and people are much to invasive in the lives of the celebraties and stars and they should have some right to privacy and not always been in the public view on display and thier lives hashed and discussed over for eons of time. Let the man rest in peace. He led a very sad and lonely life and needs to just be mourned by his family. While fans may mourn him and go out and try and find all the memorobila left some for profit to sell. The fans will move on and find someone else to idolize, and or villify. While his family are left with a big hole in their personal lives. I certainly am glad I am not a celebrity. I think being one you pay a big price in the end. It is no more unbelievable that Michael Jackson is gone that that Elvis Presley King of Rock and Roll is gone. People don't live forever but when they are great singers and actors or stars they do leave behind their legacy and gift to the world in their talent they shared with all of us. So they are never forgotten by their fans. Their music goes on.

Michael Jackson's Memorial Service will be carried out tonite at Staples Center. I can't wait to watch it. Some of the biggest stars will be there, either to perform or to give speeches, such as Mariah Carey, Usher and Jennifer Hudson. I'll definitely stay home to catch it.

Me too. There will definately be a ton of celebs there. Most of the celebs going either knew and worked with him, or grew up influenced by him. They are selling Celeb tix on Ebay. The high bid right now is $99,999,99.00!! Can you believe it? I just want to hold one.... Here's the item number: 250459757650. Crazy what someone is paying for those...

I'm actually watching it right now. I am never a fan of Michael Jackson though I truly admire his songs. Its never a doubt how great artist he has been, I'm very much moved now that I'm watching it. Berry Gordy is actually delivering his thoughts about him. Mariah carey and many more has sung his songs. Queen Latifa also.
Such a great loss...

I didn't manage to catch it all, but I caught some clips on the tube, and one that especially tugged at my heart was when the late MJ's daughter, Paris made her speech. That really caught me unaware and I was like saying to myself that she and her siblings are just too small to lose their dad.
They are small, and I could only imagine how sad they must be. But I know they be able to handle it, in time. Time will heal everything..but at that moment, it was so sad and real. The other artistes were great too. I saw snippets on the tube.

I will be watching the Michael Jackson memorial service as long as it is not on television or the internet at too late of a time. If it happens while I am asleep then I will check the internet for it when I wake up. It is going to be very interesting to see this service, it seems like it is happening way too early
I think I will spend today listening to a few of his albums and watching videos of him on youtube.

Well, as I am writing this it is tomorrow in my part of the world, the day of his memorial service. The world has not only lost another real person and a talented entertainer; but also a very troubled soul, at that. I am old enough to remember the little Michael and just HOW cute he and all of his brothers were when they were just starting out. Is really sad how difficult life & things became for him. But no, don't know anyone who has tickets to be there. Yes, hopefully, he can & will be able to "finally" see just how much love all or most of the world had for him all along!! Though now, it is sadly after the fact, to some extent.
And yes I will be at home, but have no plans to watch the service. Forgive me, but I don't think it should even be on tv, at least not local regular channels. Perhaps cable and such is okay. But putting his memorial service on ALL of the just regular channels, seems way more like it's all about the media and the money, instead of remembering Michael, which is how it should be.
I'm sure I'll watch some of the coverage on news or late nite programs, etc... but I only have local, regular channels... and no cable... so forgive me for sounding out of line if I do... but the only thing I DO really regret... is the timing of the service which will air on NBC local, as well as ALL of the other network programs... Because you see, the one and only soap I ever watch is Days of Our Lives and it will not be on. Yes, I will get over that... but I feel it's not necessary for ALL of the local T.V. networks to carry the same thing.
