Noooo, I'm not playing a silly game. I was just browsing the no response discussions and I was trying to see why they been sitting there for days without responses. Once I eliminated the obvious, like one word opening posts and so on, I realized what was wrong. No Tags! So I just thought that I should throw out there, especialy to the new users, that if you want responses you need to properly tag your discussion, so people who have the same interest will find it. A maximum of five tags will show up, so place at least five relevant tags on your discussion. No, for all you trolls out there lol, I am not trying to tell people what to do, just giving friendly advice. Now to make this a proper discussion. Do you tag your discussion and do you find you get more responses if you do?

Five may show up on the discussion, but others will show up on your profile where it lists your discussion, so use TEN tags to make it harder for the Phantom Tagger to screw with your junk! Ten tags is the max you can put there yourself. Yeah, I tag 'em, except for when I am bored and want to see what creative tags other users will come up with. I tag other people's discussions when I respond just to make the stupid page stop asking me to tag it, I usually tag them with "tag", that goes for PMs too.

I never got the tag your PMs function. It's not like anybody needs to find it, right? Makes you wonder who really gets to read your pms lol.

LOL Oh yeah, I am on a troll hunting mission lol. Maybe I should start tagging my discussions with 'troll', so that they get lured and I can catch em easier LMAO!

Yes, I do. And this is not a sentence to get married But I think it´s a very good idea to give newcomers some tips. Many good people are discouraged because nobody loves them As I´m an old mtlotter, I tag everything. And check for interests too. Happy posting.

LOL yes, a lot of new mylotters get frustrated because they are getting no responses, so I do hope it helps. Took me awhile to catch on to it too lol.

I'm a tagger. I usually use words or phrases that I've used in the discussion/comment. However, I have two discussions that have no responses. It really discourages me to start new discussions when that happen so I go through withdrawals. Oh well! So can you figure out what's wrong with those discussions that I've started that have no responses? I'd be interested to find out why! I rarely start discussions - and I get easily discourage when no one finds them interesting (when I actually start one!). Thanks!

Both discussions only had one tag and your discussion about The Closer I would have generalized more. So instead of the title you chose, you could have chose a tile like, "What's your favorite tv show", then you could have went on about that you like the closer and why. That way people would have maybe felt invited to discuss their favorite tv shows as well. I tagged it for you, I put general tags like, tv,tv show and so in there. It's always a good idea to have a good mix of tags. Some general ones as well as specific ones. I thought your parent topic is great and it could have used tags like, parents, love and so on. I put those in for you though already lol. Don't let a few unanswered discussions discourage you though. Everybody gets those. Happy mylotting

Well i do make it a point to tag my discussions. I didn't knew the use of adding tags as such but now i got it. I normally give 2-3 tags but sometimes getting tags is also a big task LOL. Thanks for your advice. Happy Mylotting.

You are quite welcome. If you look to your right, you can see other peoples discussions who relate to this one, so tags also help people find similar discussions to the one they are reading at the moment. So that also puts your discussion on the map.

I do tag my discussions. I figured that was the way to more traffic. (I guess I figured right). I also go to the "no responses" tab and answer some of those too, and my responses are always tagged. Glad you answered the great mystery. I was wondering myself!

I tag my responses as well and I also read in another discussion that the five tags that you see are the five most popular tags used for that discussion. Ahhhhhh yes, I love a good mystery that needs solving lol.

I tag what I start...but that's it. Now I know to use ten tags. It still takes awhile to get responses.
