Does your child cry at the drop of a hat?

Is your child a crier? Does he or she cry at the drop of a hat? My daughter is going through a highly emotional phase where she tears up at the slightest thing. When I tell her no, she can't do something. When I explain something and it contradicts with what she thought. When it's time to go to bed or when her favorite show ends. I don't mean to make her sound like there is a puddle at her feet, but I am a little concerned. She starts kindergarten in a few months and I don't want anyone to make fun of her. Has anyone else experienced this? And what did you do about it?
