Why does somebody like to mind somebody's business?

It was aggravting yesterday! Hubby and I brought our dog to the pond right down the street, we just started to throw the ball into the pond and made my dog chase it, all in sudden, there was a lady stopped the car and dropped off and yelled at us "SIr, no dog is allowed in this pond, I called the police last year for this issue... blah blah blah..." We didn't know who heck she was, there were couple neighbors and they told us she is a pain in a neck, likes to mind other people business and like to call the police for anything that doens't even bother her... What I don't understand is: there is not a sign posting saying dog is not allowed; I take care of my dog, make sure, no pee or poops in the area; I don't let me run into people; she was driving by... I mean everybodyy lives here that share the pond, why is it a big deal that you need to stop and drop off and yell at somebody that you don't know and you didn't get bothered? So we ended up going to the town hall and found out if that was true that dog is not allowed - that lady was wrong, there is no sign put up there and it was just a fresh water pond, not a beach. So I don't need to care for her and say don't give me a poop! For me, if anything doesn't bother me, doesn't offence me, I won't care and bother concern... so I don't understand why she would make it such a big deal! What do you think? Is it because some people think they can "control" people by doing all that?

Most of them are just like that... they make sure you are over them. I lived close to this lady... she is my neighbor, right across the stress from my house. First day of my moving in, I parked my car in front of her house (on the stress) cuz I need my drive way for Uhaul truck. And I was busy get stuff in the house and she came over and said Why I parked in front of her house? and let her grandson parked on her lawn? and then I said sorry and moved my car. Then guess what? next week her grandson came over again and parked on her lawn again... and no car in front of her house (not on the stress or drive way), and other time her family parked in front of my house cuz they had a party or something... I never say a word cuz i respect my neighbor. you see, they just pissing around with other to release their mental problem, I think ... hahahhaha....

Can we say inferiority complex???? I used to have a neighbor who was just like that. He always reminded me of the bullies in school. That man called by law on me so many bloody times! I finally lost it and yelled and screamed and confronted him. He turtled so fast it was funny.

There are people like that everywhere. She is not the police..she is not even an animal control officer. I'd ignore her. You don't have to answer to her for any reason. she is just driving by. If she were on the beach and your dog in some way offended her or bothered her...then maybe, possibly consider her feelings..just as you would a kid. this doesn't sound to be the case. Ignore the busybody...they are everywhere.

Some people don't have anything better to do than to complain about everything and everyone. There seems to be one in almost every neighborhood. She is likely a lonely woman that reacts to everything she doesn't agree with. I imagine at some point, she called the police about a legitimate issue and had gotten it resolved that way, so now she bothers the poor police for everything. I'm sure everyone at the station knows her by now and knows her as the chronic complainer. If there are no rules saying your dog can't swim there, just ignore her and let her b!tch at you, if that makes her happy. Grin and give a big wave as she is griping. I'm sure that will tick her off even more. Sorry about that. I like giving grief to people that deserve it.

No I honistly believe that she has nothing else better to do then bother you. I used to have a neighbor like that when I was growing up. He hated kids and took it out on me and my friends. We would be sitting out in my front yard just reading and he would find somereason to yell at us. One day I decided to give him something to complain about. I took out five eggs from my mothers fridge and set them outside for a few days and then I threw them at his front step. He didn't even see who it was but automaticly blamed it on me and called the cops. The funny thing is my mother thought I was with her cleaning the house the whole time so the guy couldn't get any proof to get me into trouble. I know this was not good because two wrongs don't make a right but I was just a kid. After all that he never bothered me anymore and I left him alone.

Sounds like she's bored. Needs a hobby or something. Most people who decide that other peoples lives or actions are their business are bored. I personally can't stand people like that.

I have a neighbor like that, too. I have a wolf/dog hybrid. I usually keep him in my house & I don't let him out, in my own backyard at that, unless I'm out there with him and on a leash. My neighbor saw me out there once & started going on & on about my dog, how it was howling & barking all night. Wait a second, the dog lives in my house. I think I've noticed it howling all night. She called the cops 3 times & the last time she did, cop told me not to worry about it & only reason why there were out to my house was because it was a precedure & follow the report. He told me he liked my dog so much he wanted me to bring him out to one of the special days, one of those things that they go to different school & see the kids and all. I know my neighbor has one of those little tiny dogs. I called the same cops 9 days in a row because when I was coming home from work, that dog was sitting on the edge of their driveway. I told the cops that's dangerous for people who are driving on that street & might cause an accident. After 9th time & few harrasing calls from other neighbors, she ended up moving. Some people just don't get it.

I have a neighbor that is exactly the same way. Misery loves company I suppose. Either that or people with nothing better to do must entertain themselves. On the other hand, the neighbor on the other side of me never tells me like a man when he has a problem with me or something I'm doing. He simply calls our Home owner's association, and they come by and give me a warning. So I one hand, I don't mind that he doesn't actually nag me about things, but I also wish he would just tell me if he has a problem. I don't mean I'd like for him to tell me in the same way the lady told you, but I guess we can't win them all!

I don't know. When I was younger, I just thought it was an age thing. After a certain age people just have to tell others what they need to do, but now I do understand that it is just the differences in some poeple. I have to feel sorry for people like this really. I think about it and wonder what kind of a lonely, misserible life does this person have that they have to stop a complete stranger and tell them they are wrong. What kind of person does that? A sad one. It is irritating and I don't have to understand them. They don't take much interest in understand people around them, so I just let them say whatever they think they need to say and then go on my merry way.

Yea... I mean if she thinks there is something wrong, just go to the town hall and talk to the officer, it is what the officer told us as well, I didn't let my dog bother people or poop or anything... Nobody likes her here.

Yes there are some people that think that they have to contol everything and everyone around them I personaly think that they are that way because they are not happy and they do not want other to be happy. I have some nice neighbords but most of them are really nosy they what to know everthing about everyone and that really gets on my nerves because they might come over and see what I'm doing and start asking me questions about everything. I just try to make other type of conversations so they wont get in my life such as "so how is work" or what ever comes to my mind. But they are so nosy that if I have any mail out they would actually go true it and read it and also I have and M-power box for my electrisity. They way it work is that I have a card and I have to put money in it at a thing that looks like an ATM and then I have to put it in my m=power box that I have in my house. Ok the thing is that they woould go to my machine and start looking at it to see how mutch money I have left and also see how mutch I have used well they would read all the information in it. And I HATE that but I never say a thing I guess I try to be more polite than them. Well good luck with the lady and happy mylotting

I don't think I will need to be polite to her next time when I see her, I will just say go talk to the officer if you have any problems... I don't need to take her crab.
