Have you ever lied about your age?

Well it seems at some point you either lied about your age or you are bound to lie about your age. Worst offenders are job seekers when they put false ages on their resumes. Apparently a lot of celebrities are guilty of lying about their ages. Geri Halliwell decrease her true age by 5 so she could be the fifth spice girl. Pussycat doll Nicole also lied about her age.. just to mention a few..
I for one cannot recall lying about my age as I love my new age (just turned 29 last week!) and I don't see the point of lying about it...
So be honest, have you ever lied about your age and why would you do such a silly thing?

I've never lied about my age, but as I've always looked a lot younger than I am, other people have accused me of lying about it, though why people think I'd add on a few years is beyond me! I'm 57 and I've got good skin, no grey hairs and (nearly) all my own teeth, so I'd rather tell it like it is and take the compliments when they come. Lying about your age is a lie the same as any other, and just as pointless.
Age is more a state of mind than a number on a birth certificate. I've known people in their thirties who are old, and other people like my husband, who is 75 and acts like a teenager. Well, my mother always warned me about dirty old men, but I never thought I'd be lucky enough to get one of my own!

wow you're 57? I thought you was 36! you must tell me the secret for looking that young
I agree that age is a number ans a state of mind. I do also agree that men at some point in their lives will always be teenagers.. maybe I should look for a dirty old man as it seems to work for you..

Well, I bathe in donkey's milk every day and drink the blood of virgins ... That's a lie, actually - there aren't many virgins around here! Seriously, like a lot of things, I've got my mother to thank for it. When I was about 14 and starting to experiment with make up, she didn't tell me not to, because she knew I was going to do it anyway. She did tell me to make sure I cleaned it off every night, and also moisturised. When I said I'd do all that when I needed to, she said, 'It'll be too late then - you need to take care of your skin now, before you really need to. You'll thank me for this advice when you turn 50 and you don't look like a prune.' Sadly, I lost my mother before I reached 40, but she was right. I'm also happy with my life and my man, which probably helps. Thanks for the compliment. I'm usually told I look about 40 - 45. It must be a good picture!

I don't lie about my age either, but at times I think I should. When you are under 40, it doesn't matter when looking for a job (unless you are under 18); but a lot of employers don't like to hire older workers because they generally demand higher wages. They may have more experience, but they are also harder to mold. I think that is why employers tend to look at younger rather than older applicants. I wish I could go back to the days when I didn't have to worry about such things.

yes unfortunately life's not fair when it comes to hiring older employees and many people do tend to lie on their CV's which isn't their fault but they have no choice, which is a reason why when you hit 40 you should either be self employed, or a director or CEO of something otherwise you're screwed!

I never lied about my age and I don't think it is a need to do so. What if you can lie about it, but your face and features can still tell people what your real ages are so I think lying about the real age is useless.

Well in my case I look much younger than 29 as everybody mistakes me for a 18 year high school student so sometimes your true age is not shown on your facial features

When i was 13 i would tell older boys i was 16 or 17 so they would talk to me. I realize now that was pretty dumb, but when youre young you dont really think, you just want boys to pay attention to you. lol. Nowadays in would never lie about my age. Lieing doesnt get you anywhere, and when you tell one lie, you have to tell 5 more just to cover up for that one, and then youre just in a huge mess.

I have never lied about my age, but I have had people make the wrong guess and I get rather upset when they almost get it right. The reason is that I look younger then I am and my real age well some people have things going wrong such as arthritis, being in wheelchairs, standing in the suupermarket aisle with a blank look on their face. I suppose with those conditions, anyone my age would feel that they would have a right to lie, but if the sales clerk might not give them the senior's discount so it is best to tell your real age.
But then again, my hair is almost completely white and they seem to think everyone with white hair is a senior citizen no matter how young they look.

I lie about my age every time I sign up on a website. Also about where I live, my real name, and any other personal information they want. But I've never had any reason to lie to a person unless it was just none of their business.

i dont lie about my age. Not on resumes or when applying for job because BC are asked on the requirements and i dont want to go through the hassle of making fake documents. I learned to understand the reality that you eventually grows old, why lie about it. I mean, thats a given.

when i was younger i did lie and said i was 18 when i was actually 16 but nowadays i dun ever lie about m y age any more not since im legal and loving every part of it. i am now 25 years old and im loving life. i don't ever have to lie about my age and people who lie about their age normally have insecurities or a reason for it. there's no harm in it as longs as its not for something serious. whats life with out a little fun and adventure? be a little more wild and crazy. everyone in their life's one point or another will lie about their age is just that you haven't yet but trust me babe one day you will. cheers mate.

I have never lied about my age, but I have been told that I look between the ages of 19-22. Now, some people just take one look and don't see my true age. Because of my maturity and my looks, when I tell someone my true age they think I am lying or just telling a false story. I've had to show my ID to prove that I am actually 16 years of age. Since when is it a bad thing to be 16? Even if I do look older.. that seems to scare me. How am I going to look in the future? When I'm 40 am I going to look 60? God, I hope not. My friends think that after I pass the age of 18 my looks will start to go along that line of my true age. Lol, I seriously hope they are right, and not wrong about that. I don't want to look older than I am, but then again I don't want to look younger than I am either. Some of my friends think it's really cool because they think that I can go to clubs and get alchol without having to show any ID, well, if my head wasn't screwed on as straight as it is then yes, I might have done that by now. Because I am so mature, my family trusts me to make the right decisions, and when I do, they give me more freedom.

I do lie and a lot of girls and boys, men, women, even elderly folks lied. It is very funny every time they have a birthday and somebody ask about their ages. Many of them lies and I think they are shy to admit that they aged every year. Then some are very proud to tell their ages. Especially if they already accomplish something like having a good job, having a boyfriend or girlfriend, and become wealthy. Some denied their real ages, such as when they have not meet their future boyfriend or husband and will do anything to appear young and slim. I see some men who do not like to court a girl, because of age gaps and they are afraid to marry a partner who is older to them by more than 10 years. They think such union is a failure, in case the woman is not capable of bearing children. Already in a menopausal period or to a man lost his virility.

Hi jellymonty, well I have never lied about my age but I prefer not to reveal it and let others make their own assumptions. I know that people think I'm about ten years younger than I am and so I just let them think that and why not? I think they make these assumptions as I am quite small and tend to smile a lot, I certainly feel younger since moving to an area which is more relaxed and less stressful. I have certainly never lied on a job application or with the special people in my life.
