Here is a link to one of my discussions about nuclear threats... I was not pleased to find a rude comment about the United States.... it was the 6th comment down... what do you think? I would appreciate anyone's opinion...

Ya know my new favorite quote is "common sense isn't so common anymore". I also have told quite a few people lately that they take the phrase "ignorance is bliss" a bit too seriously! It is a very sad fact that people who do not live in America do not understand what it means to be an American! They are misinformed, or just assume they know it all and feel that they now have the right to go on and on about whatever they assume to be reality! What matters is what you know to be facts, and what you believe to be true! Sometimes we are forced to let ignorance stand alone, some are never able to really learn what is true.

I think that it is very hard to listen to others ramble on and on about their facts or their anger when they are just belitting others! If you have facts and want to battle that, go for it! If you are intelligent and have researched the subject be my guest say whatever you want! However, I just cannot really handle dealing with the kind of people you were arguing with. You know that they never have facts and that they are basising their accusations, or opinions on many of the rumors floating around because they just try to slam America, or Americans. They say nothing worth value, nor do they say anything that even slightly provokes you to think. I think that loving your country the way that most Americans do is not understood in other countries. The way that people like you and I stand behind our government, or at least our troops and military even if you may not fully agree with the government is a rare quality in some countries.
I completely agree that they were all extremely uncalled for and just felt a need to bash our country for some strange reason that baffles me! I sure know that I never set out to insult another, there is no point in it! You did not mention America or even the war just the weapons and asked which country people are more fearful of. People will always hate Americans, as well as America. I say as long as we feel good about our country it doesn't really matter. Now when it is Americans bashing America just always remember to react accordingly, this is my favorite reaction... turn to them very kindly, calmly and with a smile say; "Well if America is so horrible then why don't you move to a country that you feel will better suit your needs, and your desires for your life style. It is clear that from everything you say you probably did not even vote and if you did you think it is rigged and your vote does not count anyways, so you have no hope for a happy life in a country you hate and don't support." They never have any idea what to do or how to respond, if you get one who is halfway intelligent they will then start ranting about a conspriacy theory on our voting system in which I also always laugh and walk away. I can't stand listening to conspiracy theories!

I have seriously found that there is one main reason why people "hate" America.... ignorance... it is just that plain and simple... they state things like they know it is fact when they have no idea what they are talking about.... in the other discussion someone said that America is a rich country who attacks poor countries like Iraq.... but they are wrong because we suffer from a TRILLION DOLLAR national debt while Iraq's budget has excessive surplus.... you are right... it is ridiculous for people to talk about things in such a maner yet have researched absolutely no aspect of the subject at hand... it is almost like they "wing it" and make up whatever they can as they go along... all the while enraging themselves even more with fiction rather than fact..... thanks again Miss Tina for your support amongst all of these other... people.
