I have been a fan of the king of pop since I was old enough to say "beat it" but I simply can't imagine killing myself over his death. The number of fan suicides has been rising daily and I can't help but think of a way to stop it. But the only way to find a solution is to first recognize the problem. So why are Micheal Jackson's fans killing themselves?

Taking one's own life is not a simple matter many times one last thing will trigger it. Their is so much going on now, you have no idea what went on in the lives of the people. It doesn't have to be a cult thing, MJ didn't start a cult.
If you want a way to stop it try listening to people around you, many people are hurting right now. Many just want a kind word that lets them know someone cares.

Unless you walk a mile in someone shoes you have no idea. Anyone could do it but most don't.

I heard has of last week 12 people had killed themselves. Is the number up from that? Well I'm guessing they just didn't want to be on earth without Michael Jackson. Maybe with MJ on earth it made life better. Maybe his music gave people hope for a better future and without him they felt it was worth living. I don't know I wish I knew. One guy actually slit his wrist but was saved and he replied to the doctors "why did you save me I wanted to die", I guess he is now in a psycho ward.

wow, I hope he is in a psycho ward. How can your life depend on the existance of one person that doesn't even know that you exist?

With the generation that I belong, MJ is not as much prominent as he seems to be compared to the previous ones...nevertheless, his songs made besides making history left in me some things best left unspoken and as he leaves this world, his legacy is passed through. Honestly, it's the first time I've heard of this news. I cannot quite believe it. It is astonishing. I really have no idea why they are doing it. I believe so that MJ wouldn't be too happy to know that people were killing themselves for him...I can just picture his face.

My thoughts exactly. I would not want the responsibility of having fans like that. The man can't even die without people following in his footsteps.Talk about a role model.

What??? I have not heard of this. I think the people do that have others issues too. I just cannot imagine killing yourself over someone you don't know personally.
