If someone posted a topic 3 years ago, can I post a similar one now?

Hi all! I'm wondering what the statute of limitations is on posts. I searched for one discussion topic I was about to post and noticed it has been introduced three years ago. Is it acceptable to post the same or similar topic (but not ver batim, obviously) now? What if I put a twist on it? What does mylot say about this?

Why not as long as I am a member here, I can receive response on my older topics also, I think so.

I wouldnt see why not sine a lot of people make the same exact post or there mutilple post that are the same. And I doubt a lot of people or hardly anyone will even remember about that post that was made 3 years ago doubt people will. So I say its all right to make one if its that many years back.
