Are You Happy NOW, Malia Obama's Been Called a "Street Wh@re"?

I suppose this is what's known as "fair play" or maybe "payback", right? I have a feeling this would have been discussed here on myLot MUCH sooner had it been one of the Palin kids who had been called a "street who@re" among other disgusting things, many of them quite racist, for anyone to be called let alone an 11 year old girl! It was on a popular conservative website that many of you have claimed is much more reliable and credible than, say the Huffington Post or ThinkProgress, FreeRepublic. I understand it was left up for around three days and the site's owner was outraged that the photo of Malia wearing a "peace" T-shirt had been "planted" by a liberal. The fact that apparently regular visitors to the site added their horrid comments didn't seem to phase him too much. Any comments? Annie

These people scare the holy hell out of me. They are too dangerous to have in charge of this country!!! They are the Hitlers of America and deserve a similar end. That's all I can say.

What people are you talking about? Anonymous morons who make comments on blogs? How would a nameless moron be in charge of this country?

Boy, their mud slinging has to stop. This is horrible, but it doesn't surprise me anymore. Thanks for the update.

These are the comments of ignorant people. The worst thing to do is lend them credence or publicity. Their lack of ethical center is sad but does not have to be made more so by allowing their comments to become more important than they actually are. Poor Malia, who will have to live with this and likely many other comments over the next several years. As her sister grows up she will likely be the target of some malicious and nasty words as well. It unfortunately does go with the territory and no matter how much their parents try to protect them from the spotlight it will never be enough. No child should be subjected to this, ever. But unfortunately as long as there are politics, as long as there is hatefulness and ignorance, as long as neither side is able to resolve their differences in the political arena rather than the personal...no member of a politicians family will be safe. This is especially true when that politician is so controversial.

it doesn't have anything to do with being sen by everyone, it has to do with it just being plain wrong and disgusting. With all the vicious attacks I have seen here on political figures, the kids are usualy left alone here and are seen as off limits. Most people here are pretty decent people.

Actually I don't agree with 0bama's kids being called names, picked on or gossiped about...however that sure hasn't stopped 0bama fanatics or Palin haters from raking her kids over the coals. Heck, even Clinton's daughter was raked across when he was in office. Why is it that all the mean, nasty, vile remarks are ok as long as it's against the children of the opposing side? But God forbid anyone say anything about the children of the favorable canidate. I seem to remember that 0bama made a very clear resounding statement about all kids being off limits back there during the campaign b/c he did not want any slanderous remarks made about his girls...but the remarks made about Palin's kids were so vile I can't even repeat them...not to mention a video that suggested she bullied her family and beat her kids, not to mention her husband being portrayed as a child molester. I think it's a pretty pathetic sick individual that has to resort to verbally beating up kids...regardless of which canidate's kids they are. Ppl need to grow up and leave ALL the kids alone. It's not right to say rotten things like this about anybody's kids. I never saw any video about Palin beating her kids or anything like that but if I did I'd have been angry about that as well. I honestly don't think I've ever seen any 11 year old girl called something like a "wh@re" before and that's about as low as you can get. Annie

Well to start, yes it's horrible, disgusting and wrong. Now, from what I can find, it was not written by anyone working for the blog. It was in a comment written on that blog that could have been written by anyone. The issue now is that Free Republic is being attacked and blamed for the fact that some jerk made that comment. Since they don't moderate comments before they appear, I'm not going to blame the blog itself. I've seen far worse on CNN and comments don't appear there until AFTER moderators have approved them. The reason people are attacking Free Republic is that apparently it took a day (not three days as you claimed) for the comment to get deleted. I can find no shortage of nasty things written about every member of the Palin family on any number of liberal blogs or even in the comments on CNN for that matter.

I'd heard it was there three days. Now, I'm not sure if that was the grand total or if it had been up three days straight before being taken down and then put back up. It's wrong no matter what site the nasty comments are on or who they're about, I'm not arguing that. Annie

This is disgusting and totally unacceptable, I have not heard about this before now but I wish that I had because calling a little girl a wh0re is despicable and wrong, there is no defending something like that, but you are right about where were all of the people who cite outrage on a joke about Palin thats about her adult daughter, but are mum about something so crystal clear offensive and horrible about Obama's daughter?????

You know, I just have to add something here, I know that Taskr and probably some others will have a hoot over this, but Im done with these political discussions, indefinitely....I get called stupid unjustly, I get called illiterate unjustly.....I am tired of people wanting to insult me personally just to bring me down, I am a person, I have feelings, I am not made of stone, but I am sick and tired of people forgetting the fact that people on here still have feelings but yet they still attack personally just because people don't agree with them. I am not going to subject myself to being called stupid for no reason anymore.....go have a party Taskr now, because you, just like other bullies, won in this case. (Posted it here too because this was another comment that I got insulted unjustly in, and Im not going to take that crap anymore)

I hadn't seen or heard anything about this. I see plenty of blogs talking about it but I can't find a direct link to the issue. I've never read Free Republic or a lot of the other political blogs so it isn't that unusual I'd miss it. While I'd say her parents should be a bit more diligent about how she leaves the house, no one has any business with the name calling. She's a young girl trying to show her independence and all of us remember those days we often left the house wearing something we shouldn't have. Still kids should be left out of their parents politics. But neither I nor anyone else at mylot is responsible for the comments on another site.

Why are you always trying to read something in my comments that isn't there? I said we've all worn something we shouldn't have. I have no problem with what she's wearing but now that's she getting older she needs to be mindful of how boys are especially with a pretty girl. I chased off more than one boy myself when my daughter was that age.

What is the point of this? I fail to see how all these supposed 'adult' and 'responsible' and 'decent' and 'dignified' people can possibly justify the comments they make about people's children. We all know were any of those peoples' children to be attacked, even by a personal friend in jest, they'd get all up in the person's face, yet it's okay to make comments about Obama's daughter(s) or Michael Jackson's daughter? Pfft. As I said before, people are crazy.

It is ridiculous and you're so right, some people act worse than middle school students. I know, my two grandkids are in middle school and I know lots of adults could take some lessons from them. I'm not bragging either, they're normal kids, I'm not trying to say they're perfect angels but they are more mature and considerate than some "adults" I've come across lately. The sad thing is, with politicians like Obama and Palin who are both polarizing figures, the kids are the ones made to suffer the most no matter what. They're going to be hurt even if they're not the ones attacked because it's their parents being attacked and they love them. The feelings people have for both of them range from love to hate and everything in between except for indifference it seems. When people let their dislike or even hatred for a parent transfer to the children, that's just plain sick. Annie

By the way Annie, now can you see why I try to avoid getting embroiled in politics? I really am libertarian at heart, I want it ALL to go away. I hate republicans and democrats equally, I hate the jockeying, the campaigning, the lies, the promises, the agendas, and the way anybody in government wastes and ruins everything they touch. I hate it all. There is not a word strong enough for my distaste of the entire thing. I hate how they all slam and fling poo at each other, how one group 'plants' stuff to get the other one up in arms, why can't they all see how it makes a mockery of people in the end? I cannot believe some of the things I see on tv, it's like a bunch of middle schoolers having a catfight in the middle of the school cafeteria. These are ADULTS? These are people who are supposed to take care of our country?! I think not.

Annie I shall have the same response that I had when they where attacking the Palin children.... " What goes around comes around" When a Child is called names it should outrage you no matter who their parents are and you should automatically want or feel the need to protect them. Everything I have read is where is the outrage. I remember many people saying and being outraged of the Palins being spoken of and it was not just the republicans. X I agree with you that not only Obama but also Palin should take some serious legal actions if they possibly can. I can not stand how people actually say and type things in their discussions that could be considered slanderous. I remember many moons ago if you did this you and caught you could get in a lot of trouble. This whole uproar about his long form birth certificate makes me bananas, sure you can question his elegibility and you can go all legal but until you know for sure where he was born you should not be able to call him a liar for this reason. Hey if it comes that he was born in Kenya then call him what he is at this point. But for this very moment he is not a liar until someone proves him to be one.

"X I agree with you that not only Obama but also Palin should take some serious legal actions if they possibly can." Sarah Palin actually is planning to take legal action over some of the attacks on her family. Obama can't do that in this situation because it wasn't a blogger or a Free Republic employee that made the comment in question. It was an anonymous commenter and Free Republic did the right thing by deleting the comment. The reason they are being attacked now is that they apparently didn't delete the comment fast enough. I've seen mylot take up to 3 days to delete things so I'm not going to fault Free Republic for taking 1 day.

I'm sure he has the necessary resources to find the IP address of the poster and subsequently find the location it was posted from. Unfortunately, even that isn't a sure thing since they person could have been posting from a place like Panera or Starbucks with free wifi. Still, as a father I totally agree that he should find and smash this guy in the jaw as you said. In retrospect the jerk who hacked Palin's email was dumb enough to do it from his dorm room so this guy may be just as stupid.

This should be illegal for someone to put out pictures of a minor. Especially in a way that portrays a adult act description. The person responsible should be in trouble like child photos. This is horrible to have a 11 years old facing adult experience at such a young age. Being called a adult who name or create assumptions of "adult" acts are just not acceptable. If it isn't true or it is doesn't really matter. It is odd to be that someone is so interested at little kids like that.... Seriously.... It feels as if they are like being like Michael Jackson and they don't get any media or blame for doing things like this. But if it was someone rich and famous and a familar faces they are ready to attack them with full power even if it crosses the line of a child. Shame on them!godbless

what a nasty and stupid thing to say. at least it has been (finally) removed - i just looked, was a little shocked by some of the comments but this one has gone. there are some far nastier right wing websites out there. a few weeks ago i did a search on a story kennyrose came up with (the one about the black womaan getting management in her office to take down her colleagues americn flag) because it seemed unbelievable and all the conservative/right wing sites had pounced on it and some were vicious racist ones. in the end it turned out to not really be a story when i read, of all things, fox news - unless you think two co-workers squabbling about space is news.

Attacking an 11 year old is a new low. I wasn't aware of this, but thanks for bringing it to our attention. I'm getting so tired of the Obama bashing. Just like I was getting tired of the Bush bashing. It seems like people will stoop to anything to get to the competition, and it's getting old. Leave the poor kid alone! She has so many things to grow through as a normal kid, she doesn't need all this too!
