In One and test..
sachin and pointing both are only players who.. score more then 11000 runs in both of games.. Sachin is about 1000 runs ahead from Pointing.. and in One day.. he is far ahead from pointing..
In test lara and border is also near sachin.. but both player retired..
Sachin has 42 test century while pointing has 38 century in test.. In one day.. he is far ahead from any other players..
So in one day.. these record can't be broken..
sachin can play still 2-3 year in test matchs.. while pointing can play 3-4 years..
So he only can break these recods of sachin..
What so you think guys........?

Hello friend,
I've been following both the players for a while now and I think Ponting is scoring at a greater rate than Sachin. He is also playing more. Sachin is taking a break here and there due to injury or other reasons and he's not really smashing centuries. Ponting, on the other hand is always in form and it won't be long before he overtakes the centuries records in tests.

You know.. the most advantage of sachin is.. that.. he can play another 2-3 years. or more then that.. may be 3-4 years.. because i don't think sleectors can do any thing against him..
WHile CA [cricket austrlai]ricky pointing can do any thing.. if pointing is not in form.. then they can ask him to retire..
So that's only advantage for sachin..

yes you are right ,pointing only can break his record in test, but if sachin plays well these 2 to 3 years,he may go ahead but who knows pointing may also retire early,if you take the case of flintoff, who thaught that he will retire now.if it happens so,no one can break sachins record.what you say dude?

Yes, you are right there, If anybody in the current era who can beat Sachin's test matches centuries record, then it has to be Ponting, but Sachin has still got a lot of cricket left in him, also I want Sachin's record not to be broken by Ponting. Since, POnting is under the pressure of captaincy, he has not been able to play now to his full potential as a batsman and this has till now eluded him from breaking the record of the cricketing God!!

Presently Ponting is the only one who will be able to match Tendulkars records.
Ponting will need one or two years after tendulkar retires to beat all his records.
It all depends if Tendulkar can keep himself fit like pointing and not get injured.
Tendulkar has been playing for many years now and I think he should be rested from time to time to prolong his career.

The rate of scoring of Ponting may be faster than Sachin but there is no point of Poting beating Sachin.Sachin is lagging in his scoring because of injuries. If he didn't sustain any injuries he would have definitely scored more. There is no chance for Poting to beat Sachin.

They are both great players. Pointing could pass Alan Border as Australia's greatest runmaker in the Ashes series against England, whether he can catch Tenduker in his career is another thing. I don't have the playser's stats in front of me, so I can;t tell.

Pointing? Who are you guys pointing to?
Well if its about Ricky Ponting, then I don't think he's a great cricketer - a great player got to have the spirit of the game, which Ponter lacks In My Opinion. He will go to any extent to win a match - we've seen that in Sydney test - and he's now criticizing the English team for bringing the physio in during the match! But nevertheless, he's a good batsman, and as a batsman, an asset to his team.

Hi, cool!
There's so much on thins and other sites about cricket, and I have no clue what that is. I think I'll do a little research and try to see what the big excitement is all about! Cultures are different in so many ways, but nowhere near the ways in which we're all alike!

Ricky is almost 35 years so he can play another 3 years. And sachin can play another 2 years. So there is every chance of Ricky breaking Sachin's record of most number of centuries. Unless Sachin hits more centuries and Ricky goes through a terrible lean patch it is diffecult for sachin to hold on to that record.
Sachin takes 6.21 Innings for each century and Ricky takes 5.84 Innings for a century. So Ricky has a slight advantage!
