You know it is not really possible to read every single book you wish you could read. Partly becuase it is too expensive to buy like ALL of them and partly becuase you can't find them.
For me, it is more the first than the second.
So, I have resorted to downloading books and reading them online once in a while.
Anyone know a free website that has great newly published books for download?
I am looking for one book "The Secret Life of Bees" and something like perhaps "Jeffrey Archer" or even Stephanie Meyer's "THe Host".
I know this could be a littel outside the moral compass for some....but if you love reading like me and well can't afford it all....

oh...your favourite subjects' books would indeed cost a bomb!!! Good that you find material online to keep you busy then!

I love reading a lot. Sometimes I read online, there are a lot of advantages of reading online. First, there are many resources online, you could easily find the book or the area you are interested in. And what's more, reading online is free for some sites, so it could help you save a lot of money. I love reading online.

I never actually tried reading a book from the computer. I do know that when I am on the computer for a long time my eyes get tired, so I'm n ot sure that I would be able to read a whole novel off the computer. Great idea though instead of purchasing expensive books.

I can't really read well online. I only scan the pages to see if it has what i want, then i will save or download and print it out later. Even reading of ebooks on my pc is a burden to me. I feel that the screen emit rays that hurts my eyes, that not withstanding i can sit in front of a pc and work with for hours. I have done that for 10 hours.

HIya
Im a book lover but i never do reading online or downloads. I do prefer to buy a real books. Actually you can get cheaper books from bargain sites or book store coz they offer 2for3. Or just go to ebay. Lots of used books for sale in good condition.
I like to buy "the Host" of Sphenie Meyer but i am waiting for the half-price promo.
Cheers.

I still prefer to read paperbacks, even though I will not spend money buying the books. The library is within walking distance, so I do not mind walking to the library and cart four books back.
I seldom read online, except for those books that are in Project Gutenberg. Many of the old classics are scanned with the original illustrations, and I do love to see the illustrations, to get a feel of the mood!

I like eBooks especially the searchable ones as you can go search for what you want by word. I have so many and I like to read online as well but papers are better
Many times it is cheaper as you say - and you are right to just download it and read it - If you like it and have the money to buy it - now or later - you can always do
thanks

I think there are many interesitng and good books. I just wish that I will try to read. I often read books that I think I will like. Some of them are online and some are just books that I order from Amazon because I get alot of amazon certificates. They come inhandy int terms of reading some of the books online.

Hi esp2-mayn, I also love to read and have had to stop buying books because of the expense but I could not read a book online, it just wouldn't be the same relaxing pleasure. I love to curl up with a good book and relax and staring at a screen just wouldn't do it for me. We have a book swap here where people take books they no longer want and can exchange them for books others have left. The books aren't always the ones I would choose but sometimes one can luck out and it is an excellent idea.

Can't agree more....:) just that sometimes I want a particular book so badly and can't seem to find it in stores!!!
But you are right that a surprise of a book may be much more than what we expected.
Wish WE could swap books too!

I do love to read. I check Half Price books and the bargain bins at the major bookstores. I can't read an entire novel on my computer. to me it is just not the same.

Nah, I can't really spend that much time reading on a computer. I find that tiring. And besides, a book should be read in the form of a book.

hahaha...well....on the computer, it will be an e-book!
It is becoming more popular now with blackberries etc....
But true....each to their own....
