in our country, some banks request me to visit their counter to deal with something if I want to open my internet bank.Maybe it is safer in this way,but I don't think it is convinient. What't your opinion?Do you have to go to the counter to open your internet bank?
by the way,I am from china.I think china needs to develope its bank system anyway.

hi HeidiD,
before you register an internet bank account yo can read the term and conditions of your bank. In my country if we want to make an internet bank account, have to go bank office, even we can register by ATM or the website of internet bank, but for authorize we have to go bank office.

If you want to have an internet bank account you should go to your bank and ask whether such thing is possible. Here in the Netherlands you can apply for a username online, which you get with the mail ( not the email! due to safety regulations) and the password has to be obtained by visiting the bank.
Once again I don't know about the possibilities in China. I can tell you though that internet banking is very convenient, you don't need to wait for any summaries by mail or go to the bank to get a summary or something. You can log in at any moment of the day and do your thing. :)
