As Salamu 'Alaikum!! I am new to Mylot and want to invite new friends. How long have you been Muslim? Tell me something about how you became Muslim and how Islam has changed your life.

Salaam my Christian reader. I hope that muslim slapped you back!!!!, and I think it is very sad that you have not been taught how to better manage your street-like temper by your church. Have a nice day and peace be unto you. I will pray that you become a better person and that you learn the true meaning of faith.

Salaams.....I read your comment regarding redtredtoes comment and I take my hat off to you it was well put. I am not a Muslim, I am a catholic. However, I have read about the Muslim and Jewish faith and I have found that there is little that separate the three faiths. When people start condemning the muslims I try to tell them that the faith teaches peace and that what appears in the press does not reflect on the true believers. My problem is trying to figure out why some Muslims feel that it is the duty to launchthe Hamas (Holy War) ....which to me contradicts all the teachings of the Koran. Perhaps you can enlighten me. Thank you.

Not everyone in every religion is doing their part to follow each and every teaching of their religion. I think the term you were meaning to say is called Jihad. Jihad refers to fighting for the cause of Allah, not mere brutal fighting: brutal fighting is opposed to the entire spirit of Jihad. Sura 9 Ayat 20 of the Holy Quaran says: "Those who believe, and emigrate and strive with might and main, in Allah's cause, with their goods and their persons, have the highest rank in the sight of Allah: they are the people who will achieve (salvation). It is not the acts of those who wrongfuly use the term Jihad that contradicts the Holy Quran; rather, it is those "Muslims" who don't know what true Jihad is that contradict themselves. They wrong their own souls. Rather you help in the cause of Allah or not, His Will is still going to be done with or without anyones Jihad.

Wa- Likum - Mas- Salaam. First of all a very big welcome to myLot and I do hope that you enjoy this forum as much as I do. Islam is the way of life for me and I am a born Muslim and so were my parent's, their grand parent's and so on. I am not saying that I am an avid follower following all the duties of Islam but I do try as much as possible and one say Insha Allah I will. Islam was the way of life before I was born, Islam still is the way of life for me and forever it shall stay this way :) Take Cares.

Alekum Salam! I am not muslim, I try to believe in all religions. We have this salutation in cuban tradition because of Mandinga people who came as slave centuries ago (Mandinga Empire was a political friendship between muslims and Congo people in the 16th century).
