This photo shows one of the many tiny cukes on my plants this year. I have them growing like an ivy on a tomato cage and they are thriving. I can't wait to eat a tasty fresh picked cuke. I make a dish that's tasty. Sliced cukes, a pint of sour cream, and a little sugar mixed together. Yummy. What's your fave way to eat a cucumber? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Unfortunately, I don't like cucumbers. Funny enough, though, I do like pickles! Remember I said I accidentally planted pumpkins? Nope, they are some type of squash with a crooked neck and they are yellow. I'm going to have enough to feed the entire neighborhood!

Strange that I would come across this discussion as I am eating cukes out of my garden. They are diced with tomatoes in them with Italian dressing. Your way sounds good too, I might just have to try it the next time. I've been on Facebook, as I know you have. It sure can be addictive there. Tried looking you up, but not sure what you go by there. Trying to get a little more active in Mylot as I haven't been the last several months or so.

How does one properly make a cucumber sandwich? Because the only way I've ever eaten a plain cucumber is in a salad.

Boy you sure are a wonderful gardener and I know first hand being a caregiver to an old man requires something else to look forward to. I absolutely love cucumbers. All my family way back as far as I can remember sliced cucumbers and put vinegar, cooking oil and salt on them. Stir them up good and "OH MAN" all you need is elbow room. They also mixed leaf lettuce the same way. They always grew Straight Eight Cucumbers and Grand Rapids Lettuce.

I just love a frsh picked cucumber. I eat mine with a little salt or sliced with alittle ranch dressing on them. Last year I was so depressed because I planted my cucumbers three times and never did they grow. So far this year they are looking good but I have not seen any blooms. I usually plant tomatos and cucumbers and I alway plant beans and then try one new vegetable. This year I planted Brussel sprouts. I don't know what they are supposed to look like but I have some nice looking plants in their spot. Does anyone know anything about brussel sprouts?? Happy gardening to everyone.

Cucumbers fresh off the vine taste so good they are delicious just as they are without any help! You can bite into them as if they were apples.

Baby cukes are so cute. I always have cucs growing up a fence or trellis, thats the best way of growing them. Fresh home grown cukes are yummy any way you eat it. My son picked a couple a few days ago, I had some in a salad and some just peeled.

sandwhich - I like it on sandwhichs..yummy....add mayo, cheese and cucumbers on whole wheat bread
My favorite way to eat a cucumber is by slicing it up and eating it raw. I like on salads. I like it on sandwhichs..yummy....add mayo, cheese and cucumbers on whole wheat bread....or cream cheese instead of mayo.....that's good eating.

I love cukes just sliced and salted. Sometimes we put vinegar and sugar on them. Sliced white onions and cucumbers in a vinegar and brine mix is very refreshing.

My aunt used to slice cucumbers and put them in jars with vinegar and not sure if it was a little mayo too or what but they were delicious. She and my uncle lived in the country and always had huge gardens. Since I don't now how to do them the way she did them I like to eat them in salads or even just peel them and put a little salt on them and eat away.

Bet you can't wait...Grandpa Bob! We've had a real hot, hot June & July, so I have been eating my "straight 8's" for about ten days now! This year I grew them in concrete planters....actually I think they are pieces of municipal sewer pipe, not used, of course, and I think by keeping their roots warm, they are ahead of usual! I just love a piece of cool sliced cuke, with a slice of cheddar cheese (old)....but the way you eat them, is the Scandinavian way, only thing they add a bit of lemon juice or vinegar....at least my family did...and we are Swedes! I have been eating peas, for quite a while, too! Have a rainbow day...& Cheers!

I love your cukes! I grew some last season and they were SO much fun. I had to hand-pollinate them as they were pampered indoor cukes grown in water. I like cucumbers sliced thin and served with sweet onions in a vinagrette sauce, or cubed in a salad, or shredded in a sandwich...or if they are home grown without pesticides, then just plain straight from the vine, skin and all.

Yummy! I love cucumbers. I normally eat them peeled and sliced with a little bit or salt or in a salad, but sometimes I put them in a mixture of water, vinegar, salt, and pepper and let them soak in the fridge for a few hours.

That sounds pretty good. We didn't grow any cucumbers but my mom did. she sent some up here today. I like to chop them up and make some pickles out of them in a pickle jar that already had pickles in it. I do not know how to do it from scratch.

I'm strange I like cucumbers in sandwiches or as a plain cucumber + mayo sandwich. Otherwise I dice them up and put them in salads or dip in dressing. I eat quite a bit of salad in summer.

OK apologies in advance, but when I first saw your title I thought "cucumbers got legs?" cus how else could they climb? lol My mother-in-law makes a pretty decent cucumber salad, with sour cream also, I think. That's probably my favorite way to eat them!
