My son needs some toys! He likes to play on the floor but so far none of the toys I have seem to grab his attention well enough, He has a gym but he doesn't care for it yet. What would be a good toy for an infant at this age?

Try a biting toys, stuffed animals, and keys. You could lay down a blanket and put those types of toys around him and he could play for hours. I have two baby cousins that i use to do that for all the time. They were content for hours. It also helps you get stuff done around the house.(: Good luck, and congrats on your baby son!

I have bought small toys, but they dont seem bright enough to attract his attention. I got him a mirror and he seems to like it but it doesnt entertain him long.

Maybe try a variety of toys with mirrors, let him know they are on there. Does he like to flip book pages? There are soft books he could have fun with. Maybe take him to the store and have him pick out a toy, or play with some toys with him. Pianos or things that make music? You might not like those suggestions. Or one of those play sets that they lay on their backs and have toys dangled above them? There is mirrors on some of those.

He is still very little to play with toys. I would get some musical things for him to listen to the music while looking at the bright colors.

suprisingly I havent been able to find any toys that make music that have bright colors or light up! I have been to so many stores, but so far all I have found is a mirror that lights up and sings when it is activated by movement in the crib, but he is still too little to touch the mirror on his own, or notice if he does it on accident, instead I just sit there and tap it for him.

I think babies that young still do not have clear visuals, the only colors that can catch their attention is red, black and white. There are flash cards or toys that are made is those colors in baby stores. There are also toys that are made in different colors (with the 3 colors dominant) and is made of different textures and makes different kinds of sounds. I think they are called Lamaze toys, I am not sure if its a type of toy or its a brand. But these toys are intended for the younger babies. It helps them explore textures, sounds and colors. Some of these toys even have teethers attached to them.

To be honest, he already has the best toys. Hands and feet. They're easy to reach and always available. Crumple paper and put it to where he can kick it. Don't know why but babies love the noise.

I just discovered that no toy that I buy will be good enough to keep him occupied for long. The toys he find most interesting are always items that he can't have, like remote controls, handphones, decorative pieces, crystal bowls, DVD players, my toy poodle, my fish aquarium and my LAPTOP!! My wife and I always said that his most preferred toy is his daddy and mommy. Can bully to no end. Sigh. What parents are willing to do for their children in the name of love...hahaha

LOL I know what you mean. It wont be long before I have to baby proof the house and teach myself to leave things like that out of reach.
