If I am sad and listen to music it always seems to get sadder by listening to slow music. I have noticed that If I have my mp3 player on and hear a song that gives me a rush, I notice my walk changes.I have times where I'll be in the passenger seat looking out the window and a song will come on. I will picture myself in a sad movie where I am driving off. The music plays and I drive off into the sunset. I have actually cried, Okay I'm a nutcase. I prefer drama queen. I remember when we would be driving away from our house to go on vacation. My friends would be waving goodbye and a slow song comes on. I picture it and cry. Like it was a movie. Music moves me. I used to listen alot. Now a days I have been depressed and unable to listen to music. Does music hit you like that? Does it change your mood? dl

I was like you before listening music then suddenly changes my moood easily. I also have a wide imagination as I picture myself on the song. Now what I did is everytime I am sad I always listen to the songs that makes me motivated. I realize and learned that we should choose the music that can help us not to put or feel us on the same situation. It is like choosing the right direction or path you want to take.

Reading your response was amazing. It was as if I was writing it. I can relate to every word you wrote. It is true that when I am sad I would listen to sad music. Which prolonged my sadness. I am still doing it. I tend to dwell on things. I guess by promoting my sadness you could probably tell that by your self. dl

I do think my mood has something to do with my choice of music....also what I am doing has some effect. When I am doing crafts I like to listen to something uplifting and I think it has an affect on the outcome of my project...however sometimes while I am driving and thinking I like to listen to more mellow sounds. love songs.....when I am feeling lonely...for some reason it fills my heart.

Hi there dloveli!
When we feel down and out there is nothing like a sad or a happy song in order to put everything in perspective. That is, some people listen to sad numbers because they don’t feel alone, whereas others give uplifting numbers a try in order to escape a bad moment they feel they could not get out otherwise.
Oftentimes, when I am down, I would listen to sad songs and upbeat music when I am happy or excited. Maybe that's just how it is, well, at least for me.
"My idea is that there is music in the air, music all around us; the world is full of it, and you simply take as much as you require." ~Edward Elgar

Most of the times I listen to music when I am in good mood and happy. I usually play songs that will make me feel more excited and in a way increase the happy feeling. Usually when I am sad, I do not play any music simply because I am not in the mood to listen. If ever I would play some sad songs, it will make my sad feeling worst.

Yes, I have found that music can affect my mood in both positive and negative ways. Sometimes when you are in a sad mood, that perfect sad song can reduce you to tears, and sometimes, that's exactly what you need.
Music also has an ability to lift you out of that sad mood if you let it. Music can motivate and uplift your spirit. It can bring memories back of a better time.
I think, the most important thing is that if you don't like what the music is inspiring you to feel, change the song!

I do tend to listen to music that match how I am feelin at the time. It usualy helps me more when im down. And makes me feel better when im in a great mood. Then theres other times where I would just let my music play and a certain song will come on and it will remind me of a certain time or someone and make me sad. To music music helps so much and I love music all kinds..

Yes, I always listen to music and music does influence my mood. I tend to drive at a faster speed when I listen to music with joyful beat. If I'm having my problem with my relationship, I always cry when I listen to love songs as if the song is telling out my hidden feelings. However I've learned to listen to inspirational songs like Christian music whenever I'm not feeling happy. It will actually helps you to look at things in a positive manner. Therefore never listen to sad love songs if you are facing relationship problems because it will make you worse..

Some of these things have happened to me such as listening to emotional songs. It makes me relate back to sad times in my life and I feel sad for a while but then when I hear music that gets me all excited I start bumpin that real loud and I get into it. Music is a really powerful thing. Seems like it can alter moods in an instant. I really like listening to music that motivates me or gets me all hyped up because it feels great.
