Hi All,
I have seen many of my friends, colleagues are doing this danger stuff called tongue piercing. they do suggest me to do so but i have not done it due to safety reason. What type of joy do they get in Piercing their tongue other than pain?

perhaps it's safe because i see quite a few people do it but haven't heard anyone suffer from danger by doing so. but i will not pierce my tongue. i think it's a kind of harm to my body. i wonder if it will cause inconvenience to chewing food.

Hi, when I was younger I really like the tongue piercing and wanted to do one myself. I am very afraid of needles and things like that. In fact when I got it done it really hurt and blood came out of my tongue. The day after my tongue swelled and still hurt. it felt a bit awkward and also since the pin is a bit long and my mouth is small. I decided to remove it. Now the hole has closed and I didn't get any infections at least. I hear of people getting infections since you have to be careful what you eat at first.

getting your tongue pierced is not really painful if it is done correctly. i don't know about other people's reasons, but for me, i had my tongue pierced out of curiosity and since i don't want any piercings aside from it. about safety, if you decide to have a piercing, you just have to make sure that the studio you go to practices sanitary measures and is accredited by a health agency. don't just go to any studio. it is also advisable that they use surgical steel for their studs and not silver/stainless steel to be more safe.
