Ok! I will admit it. I am 43 and I find that all those bone-joints are beginning to stiffen up, especially if I have been sitting at a desk or computer all week. However, a few months ago I saw this fitness program in the morning on TV, called Telegym, and now whenever I'm free I get up at 7 a.m. to do the exercises. A few years ago I would have thought it to be crazy, but here I am now waiting for the 9 a.m. show and ready to go. Do these shows also get you up out of bed in the morning and do you feel better for doing the exercises?

Yes, because it's energizing and I find the morning exercise excellent for my daily health. I can feel my enthusiasm too when I get up in the morning and do exercise on TV fitness show. I feel better through out the day when I do this.

Morning jlamela, thanks for your answer. I agree with you about it being energizing. That enthusiasm is a bit like a positive circle, don't you think. You get up early and do the exercise to feel better - and you do! If you don't get up then your day is shorter and has less energy... Have a great weekend. Umart

Umart, all I can say is that you are very dedicated to your health. That inspires me a lot, because most people would NEVER be so committed to wake up at 7AM in the morning just to do a little exercise.
Ehh, what do I know, I'm just a little kid compared to you. But all I can say is that, as an athlete I would NOT suggest you to do this stuff on TV as going outside and running is MUCH better than being at home. This is because there is more air around in the atmosphere for you to breathe :P Aerobic respiration is promoted when you are out in the atmosphere. So get a pair of running shoes, get some shorts, slap on a gym shirt and run! That's what I do.

Hi Eysian. Thanks for the response. Jogging - now you are becoming the inspiration for me. I have never gone jogging, but you are right about getting out and taking in more oxygen into my lungs. I go walking long distances, which is very healthy, but it takes time. Is it true that you can also get addicted to jogging? - in the positive sense, of course. Have a good weekend .... PS. will go walking in an hour, if the weather holds out. UMart

Doing an exercise is good for our health. But I myself have not been exercising for very very long time(almost 10 yrs). I just feel lazy to wake up so early in the morning for a morning walk.Since I am married with 1 kid,I don't have much time to do my own thing as I am taking care of him full-day.
I am planning to go for morning walk on the weekend..to make myself look fresh and stay healthy.

Hello Shia, Thanks for your response. Yes, I know that having a kid is a full-time exercise in itself and I don't blame you one bit for wanting to stay in bed in tze morning. I will also go for a big walk through the forest and along the river tomorrow, but it does take a few hours. The good thing about the Telegym workout is that it only takes 15 minutes each time and still leaves you feeling better ... Have a good weekend and continue on your path to stay healthy and happy. Although I do not do the exercise on a TV show, It is right time now to start doing exercise now. U can get up a little more earlier go for a walk and then start doing your exercise too.

Hello Yogambal, Thankd for your answer. I will go for my big walk through the woods and along the riverbank tomorrow morning at about 9 am. It's fantastic and it's great to tank up on fresh air. It does however take about two hours, so Sunday is the only day of the week that I have time to do it. This is why I like the two Telegym workouts on TV in the morning. They are on at 7:15 am and again at 9:00 am and each lasts only 15 minutes, which is time very well invested, I think... Have a great weekend and enjoy your walks. Umart

My papa is 56 and he is as fit as an ox. I can assure you that. All because of Yoga. It all depends upon that your excersise includes stretching, breathing and of course proper postures, whether it being aerobatics or anything else. All my family with exception to our dog get up at about six. Our dogs gets up at four (I suppose so). And doing our daily chores does us a good substitute for excersise, because we dont depend upon machines, we wash our own cloth, maintain our garden, sweep our floor manually. We go to sleep at about 10 Pm

Hi again, I just want to add a comment to what you said about doing the house chores. They are sometimes a great way of ding stretching exercises. I know my mother often says that a good cure for a tension headache is often simply to clean the bathtub... Have a great weekend. Umart

Hi moribus, thanks for a great answer. The exercises you mentioned are generally the exercises I do from the Telegym program. It's not the same people every morning, but it switches between yoga, aerobics, tai chi, nordic walking and many other exercies. I hope that I can keep doing this until I am 56 like your dad. I feel that it is becoming more and more important to do some stretching and breathing exercises as my daily work routine means that I am not moving freely as much as I used to.

I notice there are tv exercises, which are usually taken at the beach or in parks. It is good to follow than lying in bed, but why not going out in the open. Fresh air is also important, esp. after a long sleep in a closed room.

Hi zhuhuifen, that's a great point. I usually jump up out of bed just before the Telegym starts and don't even have time to open the blinds or the windows, so I am just following the exercises in my living-room. The people on the TV are mostly outdoors, doing their exercises on some exercise mats or raised wooden flooring.
I agree it would be much healthier to do the exercises outdoors... Have a good weekend. Umart

Hi phanendrav, I think your day does get off to a better start if you do exercise. I am beginning to understand now why so many people in Asia do the Tai Chi exercises in the parks in the morning before they start work. Besides, it gets me up early on the weekends too. Have a good weekend. Umart
