I tried to wash my dog but he was terrified. Do you use a pot with water, the bathtub or do you take the dog to the groomer?

In the summer time, they get tied up by their leash to a fence post, and shampooed and hosed. In the winter, they get the bath tub, or if I'm feeling ambitious, the shower.

I do give my dog a bath in the bathtub but it is not something that he enjoys. he is frequently complaining about it as a matter of fact. It is something that I really need to do for him though because he has some flea issues and frontline does not seem to help. The bath is something that he benefits from and then we have a nice clean dog to boot.

My dog is a hound and she thinks water is directly from hell, but I do wash dogs in the bath tub. Just make sure the temp on the water is right, like what you would bath a baby in. Also run some water in the tub then turn it off, scoop the water onto the dog very slowly, if you can have a helper there and make sure you you are dressed to get wet. I try to rinse the dog with very slow running water or even with fresh water that I gathered before I stared on the bath. After a while you dog will get use to the bath, I also give treat after the completion of any unpleasant treatment I have to give the dog, like ear cleaning. She has gotten very good about that as long as she gets treat after. Good luck and remember you are smarter than the dog even if they are quicker.
