Are you like this too?
I don't mind preparing the ingredients and making a good meal but I just don't like the disaster after, not everytime is a disaster, it depends on what I cook actually, just like last night, I made pan fried chicken leg, clam egg pancake, it was enough to make a disaster... because the chicken leg is greasy, when I pan fried it, the oil came out like crazy so it kept popping even though I had the cover there, I still needed to check it so it makes the stove so greasy and oil splashed everywhere...
I have a dish washer, it helps some but not much because I don't only need to clean the dishes but the counter, stove and stuff as well...
Do you mind washing those after?

Washing is a heavy thing in my opinion. And oil is a terrible item. I don't like both. So I don't like cooking and those are why I never learned to cook. Many friends told me that: cooking is a funny thing, you can enjoy yourself during the process. I agree this because I can imagine how happy someone is when he make a good deal for himself or someone else. But it is just imagination. I don't like the disaster things such clean dishes, stove, even brush floor. I worry about hot oil too. If it pops to my face, hand, how can I do?

I hate to wash grease...!!!
What you can do is rinse it immediately and put on some medicine to prevent it get worse.

it sure has concerns u mention, but there are alternatives and remedies too. when oil is hot n toss something to it, stay 1 n a half feet away for a few minutes!!! i do that...everytime i splutter mustard seeds ar even chilli flakes. it will also prevent u from burning eyes of the hot smoke...
abt cleaning oil related utenils or even grease laden surfaces, what i do is warm water and add a little detergent (can b a mild one), wipe the surface with it...u will get rid of the grease, bt the problem is tht u have to do this regularly say once a week. always remembering to on the exhaust also helps to an extent.

AHAHAHAH! Don't we all ? Well actually it depends. I like to wash the dishes, but I don't really like the part where I have to clean the walls from all the splatter :)
In any case, for me it depends, sometimes I find it relaxing to do the clean up, sometimes I don't even want to look at it hehe

Since i live alone. I try to cook where there isnt much clean up. Examle: i have glass pans and often eat right from the pan. Left overs ...no problem...just pop in the frig. When i re-warm it i let it get to room temp then reheat in the same pan and eat from it again too. OR...i cook it wrapped in foil. Thats the throw away dish. Convience food.

I don't like cleaning up pots, pans and extra things after a meal. I will wash them as I am done with them while I am preparing the meal. This is much better for me and it does not seem like such a chore doing it this way. I clean the dishes and all up after the meal. But as I am cooking I am continually washing off my stove, counters, any dishes I use in the mean time.

I love cooking but hate the cleanup. But I am very lucky because I cook and my husband cleans up the kitchen. I cook for six so no matter what I cook its always a mess but he will come in after I put all the dishes in the sink and wash them off and then put them in the dishwasher for me and then clean off the countertops and stove. But he also knows if he helps clean then we get quality time for us.

When I am in a cleaning mood or a real good mood I dont mind doing the dishes after cooking. Other times though its like well it can wait. Like last night I cooked cookies and just sat the bowl in the sink with water. THe dishes get done eventually.

hi,mermaidivy, i would like to say that sometimes washing can be a romatic part.every time when i got home, i would do some cooking with my fiancee, and it is everytime that i would do the washing with her, maybe the whole process would be romatic.so i would say that something dull may turn into something good if you see that in another eye.
and happy my lotting ,happy washingQ
cutie, nice day

That's sweet, not the way my husband and I will do though, I'm the one responsible to cook and wash... he is only responsible for eating!

mermaidivy, I will do the washing while I cook, and after I finishes the last dish, I really get lazy to clean further. As for the stove and stuff, I will wipe immediately I finish, or else I will be too lazy to do that especially after my dinner. Normally, I would tell my family members to help doing the dishes after food, as I am too exhausted after cooking.. :) happy MyLotting

I think all ladies just ‘hate’ the cleaning up after so much effort is given to cooking. I hate it too! And you know what, Indian food is inherently spicy and requires a lot of frying which naturally dirties the pots and pans further. Dishwasher is not the solution to cleaning them…they need good old scrub by hand and that’s what is most disgusting. And after so much cleaning and scrubbing, you kind of lose your appetite for the food you so painstakingly prepared, don’t you? At least, I don’t feel like eating anything immediately after so much hard work and by the time I feel like eating, the food has turned cold!

to be honest, all of it is a chore for me. i am so pressed for time with so many responsibilities that finding the time to cook and clean up are just two more things to add to the list. i do not enjoy doing either one. i do cook everyday though. no one can complain that there is nothing to eat in this house. i try very hard to fix something that everyone likes but that is not always easy or doable.

I like cooking but I agree the aftermath is not desirable! I try to balance mine out by cleaning/washing dishes as I go. When I have a bit of down time during cooking I try to wash as many dishes as I can then. It does help quite a bit. I am also not into frying as much as I use to be. I am trying to be healthier. If I do fry something though I am constantly cleaning the counter and the stove top where grease has popped out. I cannot stand that sort of mess.
