Hello everyone. Very recently I have been involved in a traumatic situation which has left me confined to my house for a while. I am currently signed up for Helium and AssociatedContent. I figured that now was the best time to start writing articles and such.
Is it okay to post personal pieces of work on either of these sites? I want to write about my experience in the bad situation I have been involved in, but I do not know if that is allowed on either site.
Also, if anyone knows of any other paid to post forums or writing communities that will pay you for submitting work, please let me know! I need to start earning money quickly, or else I have to start going back into work, which is virtually impossible right now.
Please help! Thanks!

I heard Associated Content is good for upfront payments. You could make use of that and keep on writing, that will be cool.
Other sites which I know of are Hubpages, Squidoo (slow money earners but will work in the long term if done efficiently from what I've gathered).

Yup, you are right..
If you want something fast, then I suggest you try to find referrals that can be active under your down-line in mylot..
Or you could try to write for Constant Content.. they buy your articles if they are interested; something like that..

How much do you know about squidoo? I have heard of them, and it kind of just sounds confusing to me! I would love to join some more social networking sites that pay per impression or what not, too, but I am not sure which ones are good or not! I heard squidoo was pretty good, so if you know anything about the site, please share!

I have been trying to find referrals for a few of the good sites I have been using, but a lot of people like to ask about what site you are talking about, then join without a referral link. Go figure.
Are YOU interested in joining any new sites? There is one site that is great if you have a lot of content online, like article submissions and photography and whatnot. They pay you per page view you get, and so far I have made 25 cents. Not a whole lot, but I haven't been able to get all of my work up yet.
They let you post links and each link you post, you get paid, too. It's a pretty easy way to get your name and your links out there, as well as get paid for making friends and such. I have noticed about ten more visits to my blog each day since I have been a member of this site, so I think that this site is paying off already!
If you are interested, let me know!

I'm a member of Helium, but not Associated Content, as I believe they only accept work from US writers. Browse the channels in Helium, and you will find plenty of outlets for your writing. Testimonies is the one that immediately springs to mind. You can also type a key phrase into the 'search' facility at the top of the page, and this will bring up articles under associated titles. Remember you need one rating star to be paid at Helium, so put in time rating before you start writing to earn that star. Rating will also help you to come up with article topics, and there is a 'skip' button at the bottom of the page so you can bypass articles which don't interest you.
Check out the 'Helium' interests section on Mylot for more advice. Good luck with your writing, and I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Sandra!
I know you aren't from the US but you can still earn on AC from pageviews. I do okay with pageviews. I get about $25-$30 a month. If you are doing good with Helium transfer your articles to AC. They can be put on ac as display only just for performance payments since you aren't a resident of the US. Good luck. When you sign up tell me your pen name and I will check out your work. (at least you know you will get one page view). lol

Thanks for the tip, MommaJ - I'll certainly look into that, as you can never have too many outlets for your work, especially if they pay fairly well.

Want to have a look at mine, too, mammaj?
But you are both right, having work in multiple places can't hurt you! Especially if you are trying to make a name for yourself by writing. I really want to sit down and be able to get ALL of my work online, but it takes a lot of time!
Recently I have joined a social networking site where you upload all of your links and content and you are paid .93 cents per thousand views. I have noticed an increase in my blog traffic since I signed up for this site, too which is great. I have been working at uploading all my content in the past few days, and I have already earned about 25 cents. Hopefully, once I have more friends on this site and all my content is up, maybe I will earn more! I have heard a lot of great things about this site, so if either of you are interested, let me know and I can send you a link.

I have submitted a lot of my personal things about my life on Associated Content, and even got paid better for one of my submissions. So personally I would think since they pay the best that would be the first place to start, and then try the other site for shorter work, or work not accepted on AC. Sorry to hear about your situation and I will be Praying for better things to come.

Thank you! I really appreciate that! I am glad to hear that you have been paid by associated content! I know they are a trusted site, I just don't know how quickly and easy it would be to earn through them! But hearing that you have been paid definitely helps. I am sure I will be submitting a lot of articles very shortly!

It is ok to include your personal experiences in an article. In some cases, it might even be preferable to do so, as it helps you stand out as someone who has actually been there and done that, rather than someone who just did a lot of research and wrote an article.
The point is to include a bit of your personal experience, but not too much, so the article doesn't degenerate into one that's just telling your life story(or part of it). Of course, if the topic is something along the lines of "My Experience with (insert random thing here)", you can pretty much ignore that last point.
I do have a list of freelance writing sites I complied here at www.squidoo.com/writingfulltime I try to keep it updated, but I have to admit that I procrastinate a lot when it comes to doign that :P

Yes, I do most of my work from home. I do have clients who would rather meet face to face rather than send me an e-mail, but generally most of my work can be done without me stepping out of the front door.

I am so envious of you. My life has been turned upside-down since this robbery, and I have wanted nothing more than to be able to work from home in my pajamas most of the day. Do you have any tips you can share with me about working from home? What are the best ways you earn online?

So sorry to hear about your situation, I know that being confined is really rough. You could try checking out a site that I have heard a little bit about in the last couple of weeks. Add me as a friend & PM me and I send you the link. The great thing is that the site will pay you 80% of the profits of what ever you write.

Rebelmel, hello there. I write for both of the websites you mentioned. It really takes dedicated writing, monitoring of your pages, and an endless desire to better yourself at writing. I use these websites to hone my writing skills, meet wonderful writers and be entertained by some great articles. I have met some of the greatest writers, and most helpful people ever!
I guess what I am trying to get across is,that when you set out to earn money writing, you should never lose sight of why you started writing in the first place; soley for the enjoyment of it! Good luck with your writing career!

I do not think there is anything wrong in writing your experience in AC or Helium. I write for Helium and has seen many articles with testimonies. Go ahead and write and tell the world about your experience.

I think that if I wrote about my experience and posted them on those sites, I might be able to get a decent amount of reads. It's kind of a really scary story, and I think that it could attract a lot of readers! If I post my story, would you want to read it?

I have heard of a site called hubpages, but I don't know much about them. I also have been thinking about checking into Ground Report or Demand Studios. I don't know about either of them either.I have heard that they pay,but I have no experience with them.

I'm not as involved with Helium so wouldn't know, but yes you can write articles about the bad experiences you've had, however, AC would probably only accept them as a "memoir" type thing and therefore couldn't ask for upfront payment, but as Performance Payment...that is you would get paid via pages views

It wouldn't bother me too much to hear that I wouldn't be able to get upfront payments. Actually, I haven;t written ANY article for upfront payments yet! I have been a member of both helium and associated content for a few months now, but I just haven't have the time to actually write an article. Writers block!

Just try... nothing to lose anyway.Goodluck to you:)

I think I joined that site a while back but never uploaded anything to it. I have been working really hard this past week trying to get all of my content online - if no one can read my content, how am I going to get paid for it!? Hopefully, soon, all of my content will be online, and I will have a little less work to do! If you think of any tips for using bukisa, please let me know!

You can write what ever you want on either site. If you put your situation in third person and then show the relevancy in first person, AC should give you a bigger upfront payment. If you relate your situation to a title in Helium or create a title for your situation, you will be able to post it there. Helium is mostly page views so make sure you submit to AC first for non-exclusive.
Article might say - Many people shop for brand x. They will first read the label. GIVE ingredients or description of label. finish paragraph and write more in Third person.
I bought brand z after trying brand x. The quality was much better. BLAH BLAH BLAH. We trust what you say because you showed us personal experience with the brands.

My lot isn't exactly what I mean by online submissions. When I say online submissions, I mean the articles I have written, not questions and answers. The things I am looking to submit are a few pages long each, and on AC or Helium, they pay each time your page is viewed, rather than when you are responding to a discussion.
