I do believe that prayer can do wonders. I pray everday in the morning and before going to bed. I pray everyday before starting to office from home. Whenever I want to get something I pray to my god and I will get it somehow. I believe that now I am happy because of my prayers i.e. Jesus's blessings. On the other side, my husband doesn't believe in prayers. He says it doesn't mean that you will get into an accident if you don't pray and you might even get into an accident even if you pray. What do you say? Do you pray daily? How often do you pray? Do you believe that prayer can do wonders? Have you experienced the effect of prayer in your life?

I do believe prayer can do wonders. Most people think if you pray for something it should happen soon, well it don't work that way. I have been in situations where I had to sincerely pray harder and talk to the Father to see that he took control of the situation. You truly have to believe in your heart and be sincere. I have been blessed to be a witness and to have a Father that loves me unconditionally, even if I do mess up or don't follow His lead, but I try to. You all have a bless day.

It is nice to see another person who believes in prayer like me. Yes, you are right, we should pray only whenever we are in need of something. But, mostly our prayers end up in requesting things from god. God, please do this favor for me, please let this happen for me,...etc. We should find time to praise the lord and it is important to say thanks for his mercy. Thanks for the response.

Thanks for your comment to me. I would have to say I don't persay ask for a favor as there is a certain part of you that needs to take some kind of responsibility. I praise Him each and everyday, as it is hard not too when you look at the birds, trees, etc. When I have a problem I can't seem to solve or figure out I just go be alone somewhere outside and talk to Him and let Him know this is what I will do to improve whatever situation it is, basically attitude wise. It takes time but it generally works out to the good. I feel sometimes most situation we get ourselves in are self-inflicted. Have a blessed day.

Yes, I believe prayers can do wonders even today. I hear a lot of people preaching about the super power that exists. If you are able to connect to that power then you will no longer have to face the pains in this world, you will believe you are free of all the despairs, you will feel free. The people who preach are saints and my parents hear them everyday on the T.V. You know Indians, we believe a lot in our mythology. They say that the only way to connect to the super power is to pray daily, do meditation on a regular basis, someday you will achieve it. So, due to all this, I still believe that there is someone out there who listens to my prayers and helps me in solving my problems. But your husband is right as well, whatever has been written in your destiny, you will have to face it.

I believe in the power of prayer and it must be first felt inside of us.If we make a phone call continuously and ringing for a long time and we're wondering if maybe we should just hang up and try again another time. Then a voice answers and simply says, "I'm here. I'm listening to you." Communication has been established!. The power of prayer is the constant renewal of perspective. Prayer opens our eyes. It extends our horizons. It sheds light into the darkness of our fears and our sorrows, our hopes and joys, our shame and our pride. It gives us new ways of seeing life and relationships, of understanding work and the cost of growing.I don't believe that our prayer changes God's mind or improves God's disposition. God will do what God will do.

Yeah.I strongly believe that intense prayer certainly can produce gr8 miracles.I have experienced so many such instances in my own life. What words are used, how the sentences are structured is not really important.Whats most vital is the intent ,the emotive contents and the inner appeal. This shall bring upon the necessary changes.I m perfectly certain of it.

Yes, God will do what God will do but good things can come to you as long as you keep that relationship with God - that is what he wants. I love all man as Jesus instructed us to do but God is my number one love always. Have a blessed day.

Prayer has been proven to work wonders in the past and I do believe that it still work wonders now. In fact, we consider prayer to be the most powerful weapon that we have against the trials that we face. The initial result of prayer is peace, knowing that you have laid everything down to the feet of God and trusting that He will be there to guide, help and protect you. My husband and I always pray before we leave for work. My husband prays for my kids before they leave for school and I also utter short prayers for them and for others throughout the day as I go about my work. I believe that prayer has been one of my main sources of strength whenever I am faced with so many problems.

I am like that also silverglint; pray throughout the day. I pray a lot for others, even the ones that do not care one way or the other. The Power of Prayer is there.

I'm like you. I pray when I get up, when I go to bed, and sometimes in between. I think that at the very least, I feel a bit comforted and more relaxed when I do. It isn't going to prevent your fate, but it does keep me uplifted and going through the day.

I'm neither an aethist nor a fantic - i do pray for everyone's well being but personally believe that prayers have a scientific explaination than piritual one :) Prayer are nothign but a mode to fine tune your mind to believe something. And believe me, when you start believeing something wholeheartedly it really happens (good or bad). So i see prayer as a tool to think positive anothing really spiritual :)

Yes, you are right. Prayer is a tool to think positive. I experienced in many times in my life. I have seen many people taking advantage of prayer because it allows them to think positive in the midst of problems. Prayer also gives me a lot of confidence, I will say over confidence Lol which keeps my life going. Thanks for the response.

I pray daily and do believe in prayers. Yes prayers have their own wonders and it helps only the one's who believe in it. Accidents have nothing to do with prayer but probably the belief in prayer helps in keeping your mind calm averting an accident. And i am a staunch believer of god and his blessings and know he will help me in the time of need and distress. Probably the belief itself brings a positive approach towards life.

Yes, meditation gives a lot of peace. When I started the discussion I thought many people will say that they don't believe in prayer. But, to my surprise I have found that almost everybody responded to the discussion saying they believe in prayer a lot and prayer gives a lot of energy and hope in their life. I am very happy to hear that. Thanks for the resposne.

I am a strong believer in God.Despite the hurdles I have faced I have never lost my faith in God.I believe that whatever He has planned for us has a purpose. Therefore I pray daily at least once, sometimes more often.I do believe in the strength of prayers and that they can indeed work wonders if they are said from deep within the mind.If we pray sincerely we will see the results some day, sometimes a little early, sometimes over a period of time.I have experienced the effect of prayer in my life on several occasions and therefore my faith remains unshaken in God and prayers. There are many who do not believe in prayers.Well it is their opinion and every one is free to do what he or she likes.

Especially in the 21st century. I believe that this century is the time to decide which road you will take; the narrow road or the wide road. Of course, I choose the narrow road. Have a blessed day.

No, I absolutely do NOT believe prayer does anything. I feel like it's unnecessary and a waste of time. It does absolutely nothing. If you believe it does, then that's fine. I don't have a problem with that, but I know it does nothing for me. I agree with your husband. If you don't pray, it doesn't mean you'll get into an accident. And just because you DO pray, it doesn't mean you won't get into an accident. In my opinion, prayer does nothing.

I do pray everyday and I do believe in the power of prayer. This link I am posting was very interesting about prayer. Yes, I have had answered prayers and have some that are pending. http://www.allaboutprayer.org/power-of-prayer.htm Power Of Prayer - How powerful is it? The power of prayer should not be underestimated. James 5:16-18 declares, "…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops." God most definitely listens to prayers, answers prayers, and moves in response to prayers. Jesus taught, "…I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20). 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 tells us, "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." The Bible urges us, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints" (Ephesians 6:18).

well, it depends. A few things can be sorted out with prayers (even in 21st century) but many things need active volunteers. For example, you can pray for world peace but one can't pray for the earth to become cleaner or to abolish racism - for this we need to act. Remember, prayers are not the only source to help people - but if you do help the needy or those who need support then you will become their rockstar :)

Yes, we pray here at least five times a day. Before sleep at night, and in betweens, then again early morning. Prayer in our home is the beginning and end of our daily movement. It's a cycle with in 24 hours. Of course even if you pray accident and bad things still may happen. But there is an advantage for the one who pray. You are being guided during and after the prayer. There is something you would feel with in yourself. If you believe in God. Everything in this world is just a part of our journey. For we are all gone astray. So we must believe in God and pray!

I believe that prayer is a very powerful thing! There is a friend of mine that needed to sell her family's things at a garage sale (so that they could have enough money to move) and no one was coming and shopping. The family sat down and all prayed together and when in minutes they had so many customers hat they sold almost everthing and could hardly keep up! I know that has helped a little toddler with his pain. He has sickle cell anemia and the pain is horrible most days, but with prayer he is actually able to have some days were he can play like a normal 11 month old child! No one can convince me that prayer is worthless!
