what do a kitten eat ?

How old is the kitten? Ideally it should be fed by the mother for the first 8 weeks of life. Kittens can start eating solid food around four weeks old. and then It should really be Cat food. because this has all the nutrients a cat needs to make it healthy. But other than that a cat is a carnivore so it should be eating meats. small amounts of rice or grains mixed in is ok. But that is not recommended for them to live on. They have Pointy teeth because they are meant to eat meat. Milk is ok, but is also not very nutritious for them.(if that is all they are given.)

Generally, kittens are fed by the cat with milk itself, but as a substitute you can try milk powder mixed with water, in case as you have mentioned you do not get milk. I do not think they will be able to eat solids foods now. Anything in liquid form is advisable.

What about the mom? Is it around? It's ok if she's around. If not and it still young and unable to eat anything but drink milk, you can visit the vet to get the milk. They can advice the ones that's suitable for the kitten. If it already able to eat something, you can give it wet cat food. I give mine Whiskers. There's ones for the kittens. It's important to keep it warm and make it feel safe. Also, I noticed male cats will eat kittens so you need to be careful and keep it safe.

They will drink water if it is difficult for you to get milk for it. If you have a can of tuna, they will love to eat that, or a bit of ham/chicken. Just cut it into little pieces. Apart from these sort of things i think the only other thing you could feed the kitten is cat food.
