Mylot tasks have become a total JOKE.

I remember when Mylot first unveiled the new task section, things were't that bad. There were some decent writing assignments and such. Now it has become nothing more than a referal farm, paying only a couple cents, which you can easily earn just by posting a quick response to a thread here in the forums. I look through the task list and see almost nothing now except for task after task requiring me to sign up as someone's referal for some lame PTC site. Come on people, make it worth while will ya? Is it even with in the mylot rules to post a task that is nothing more than a referal harvesting? Is anyone else irritated by this, or is it just me?

When I was fairly new (about 2 months ago or so) - the whole tasks thing was new as well. I remember SharonBucks - she would reward $2.00 for a well-written article about some topics that she chose. Anyways, I didn't I was a good enough writer for them so I didn't bother. It was just good to know that if I want it, it's there. Nowadays, I realized that the tasks have become silly, to say the least. They only reward cents. Sometimes not even a full cent - and I hate it when people ("friends") spam me and instant message me to let me know that they are "trying to help me out" through this so and so task.
What a load of bull. In fact, now that I think about it - I should remove that "friend." Hmph!

The last SharonBucks task that I submitted was yesterday :) In fact, it's still pending. She posts them quite regularly. It's all about timing as to whether you see and can accept them or not, I think. The last few of her writing tasks that I accepted have been for 500+ word articles versus the 4 paragraph type that have been common in the past.

Bugs me too, because I'd like to earn something for taks, and I'm not going to sign up to a million different sites that I will probably never use just for a cent or two.
Then again, the tasks I've done so far that was more than referral links have not accepted my task and paid me, and that annoys me to. I have $1.80 in tasks waiting to be accepted or rejected.

In the past couple of days they have slowly started being approved.

I still do tasks regularly but only writing tasks... 'til now, I've only done the 4 paragraph or 500+ word tasks posted by SharonBucks. I've noticed some other writing tasks, too, but haven't yet given those a try. I'm pleased with the SharonBucks tasks and haven't had any trouble having those approved. However, I admit that I totally ignore any other tasks that are posted. I'm not interested in being someone's referral or being asked to write content for only a few cents in compensation. I was interested to read, earlier in this discussion, that myLot is looking into the tasks situation. I took a look, again, at the FAQ called "Tasks as Creator" and it seems there has been a modification to the "prohibited activities" section since I last read through it. I'm quite sure myLot is on top of the situation and I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a decision on it soon. But to circle back to my first thought... if you enjoyed the writing tasks in the past, they are still posted routinely. Just keep checking the "available" tab and you'll find them - but they go fast so grab one if it interests you. Good luck!

I love doing the tasks but the orevious tasks were better. I am referring to the writing jobs which paid Mylotters $2. Now, I have worked a few tasks because I don't like the tasks anymore.

You are so compeletly right!!! I used to look there and complete the writing tasks, they were fun and I could be creative about them. But ever since they let just anybody post them I do not even go to find a writing task because I have to wade through too many stupid referal tasks.
I would think that since you cannot create posts like it then you should not be alowed to create tasks like it either. Besides all that who wants to earn a penny for joining a website?

I agree, I have checked the tasks a few different times lately and always think what a joke. I wouldn't try one of those tasks even if I really needed the money. It just screams scam to me. I am not willing to sign up for a site that I haven't heard of before to give you that referral so I can get a penny deposited into my mylot account...no thank you. I am glad that mylot put a block on putting them in as tasks.

I was somehow surprised that tasks turned out to be referral links of different paying sites. It used to be writing tasks that would make members come up with meaningful work done. But I guess that some people really need money that badly.
An alert has been given to all members to put an end to these referral links.

I think there are so many people already freaking out on tasks section flooded with referral links, paying 10 cents, 1 cent, 5 cents just to sign up as their referral and sign up on those garbage sites!!
Wish there's some person to take care of this section as well. If they can delete offensive posts, then why not these tasks violating the Terms & Conditions!!

At least we can no longer worry about it. Mylot has come out and clarified the rules on tasks. Referal farming in tasks is now officialy forbidden. All tasks that were up before the announcment will remain, but all after that will have to comply.
