Yeah, this sounds like a cellphone description wherein a commoner could actually use a unit due to its easy navigational features. But I am pertaining to a kind of person here.
Have you met a person who appears so kind and friendly that you simply can't resist giving a hand whenever he or she needs one? Well, with the nature of work that I had, my environment is filled with such creatures.
Being a teacher, its a bonus nowadays to recieve a greeting from present students when they see you walking along the hallway in school. A year or so after being part of your class, they will just pass by on you without saying "Good morning" or so, even just for the sake of respecting a teacher or anyone of age. But when they need something from you, say a recommendation letter for college application, they appear sweeter than they were before. They need something, and they will get something in return by being so nice. After accomplishing it, you are relegated again as a mere ornament in their surrounding, no longer pertinent nor important. They are done with you, so why stay nice?
Is it worthwhile to help people with such nature? Do you have friends with this kind of personality? How do you deal with them?

yes, i used to have friends who are like that. i stopped hanging-out with them. any relationship is a give and take process. if your friend always ask favors and bribing you to do something that will benefit him, i think that's selfish. and its not nice to have a friend who is selfish.
