Which style did you learn, or do you prefer?

I started out English, dressage and huntseat to be more specific. I have tried Western before but for some reason find it rather uncomfortable. I like the way an English saddle is small and I feel closer or more in tune to the horse's body. I even prefer the way you use your reigns in English over Western. In dressage especially, you use the reigns a lot less than in Western, which I think is nicer on the horse's mouth. Also the horse's speed is much faster in English than in Western - a trot instead of jog, and canter instead of lope. Some people like the slower, easier gates, but I rather move along and not have the horse drag his feet.

I learned Western as a little girl and I like it then because I felt more secure having something sturdy to hold on to. But as I got older and more comfortable I also learned English and I think I pretty much prefer that now.

Even though I don't understand the question I'd say Western.

They are different riding styles, like the saddles are different and stuff.

I learned English, the hunt seat. I really enjoyed jumping, I wasn't very good at it, but I loved it!
