Before go to my bed I used to turn off the lights in my room,I feel so comfortable in sleeping when the lights is off.But some of my friends did not like the off lights when sleeping, the lights in there room open till the morning comes.I wonder maybe there a reason why we like the lights on/off when sleeping. And one reason my family used to conserved energy.what do you preferred lights on or lights off?

My bedroom light are always turned off before I sleep. There's no point in leaving it on - it's just a waste of energy and money. The reduces the lifespan of the bulb or tube, too. However, my brother-in-law has to sleep with a bit of light on because he's afraid of the dark. I think it's not a matter of preference; it's whether we need to leave it on for a reason. I believe most would want the lights off. :)

Lights off that is my preferences. I can sleep more easily if there is no lights on. Even i am alone and when i wake up nothing to see but the darkness, i have a lighter that have a flashlight beside me to light up whenever i want to go to the bathroom.
Sleeping without lights on is saving electricity.

I would prefer to sleep with lights turned off. i cant sleep when it is on because i can see everything, and when i close my eyes i feel my eyes was stung by lights and it s slightly painful. So when it is needed that the lights are turned on during the night i used to put something in my eyes like towel to blindfold so that i can sleep.

Hi jeffmagic, as I have always has the habit of reading to sleep I tend to wake up with a light still on, not the main one though, just a night light at the side of the bed. I also prefer it in case I am woken by strange noises outside in the middle of the night, such as donkeys licking the car or something loud rusting through the grass outside.

I need complete darkness to sleep. Sometimes my granddaughter sleeps with me and she needs a nightlight on. Thoses nights I don't get a good night sleep at all. So lights off curtains closed so the light in the early morning does not wake me. Funny my grown daughter of 28 needs a nightlight too because she is afraid of the dark. I just find that so funny at her age.

Prefer lights off than lights on when i go to bed.
Besides it makes save energy also make a bed feel asleep.
But sometimes...if my kid being sick..he wants the lights on in the room.

i'm more comfortable sleeping with the lights off. I used to sleep with the lightson because at some point in my childhood life, i was afraid of the dark. now, i feel relaxed when i go to bed with the lights off.. the dark comforts me and keeps the stress away:)

I sleep with the lights off because I am just more comfortable that way and it makes it easier to fall asleep. Also, it does save a lot of energy and you reduce the amount that you may pay on the utilities. I don't have money to waste to sleep with the lights on at night lol.

I go to bed, if the lights are off, then my sleep is very well, and relax, and no disturb feeling.

I like to sleep in complete darkness. I had to buy new dark curtains because the light mornings in summer woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep...I've read it's not good for you to have a light on while you sleep - the body needs darkness to repair itself at night. Our bodies are programmed to sleep when it's dark and wake when it gets light - when you wake up and open the curtains or turn on the light, it triggers a chemical in your brain that responds to the light and wakes you up, so if you try to sleep in the light, you wonh't sleep properly.
If I wake up too early and it's light, I wrap a dark scarf round my head to cover my eyes...

I would always prefer lights off! I can never get to sleep when the lights are on. And also you are wasting energy when you do so! But some people prefer lights on maybe because they are afraid of the dark, don't want burglars in the house at night, or just to have quick access to things if they get up in the middle of the night. Anyway what I prefer would be lights off!!!
Happy mylotting and may God bless you!

i usually sleep with the lights off, can't really sleep with the lights on unless i'm super exhausted. but if i'm at an unfamiliar place by myself like in a hotel or somewhere, i'll leave some lights on

I need darkness to sleep but my younger brother need a bit of light (he tend to wake up at night and freak out, even I am by his side~~~) So we turn on the night lamp. I can't sleep if the lights too bright. Once asleep, I am sensitive to light, just like I am sensitive to sound. I'll be restless if the lights are on. This can be a problem if I need to go out station and share room with others. Some might sleep with lights on and I can't sleep at all.

When I sleep, I always turn my lights off.
It is helpful for my eyes, and save some electricity as well.
I can not sleep when the lights are on.
That will totally wake me up.
