What was the situation like? What was the first thing you said to each other?
What was the first impression he / she give you?
Today I keep thinking about how my husband and I met... I remember the first impression he gave me was he doesn't move his lips when he talk, the first thing he said to me was "How are you doing?" I kept looking at his lips and told him after his non-moved lips impressed me! And he told me that the impression that I gave him was I am very tall (I'm 5 foot 7 inches tall), taller than the girls in general.
So do you have any stories to share?

I do remember how I meet my husband and it is funny as I couldnt stand him and told him I was going to kick his butt! He was sitting some kids that I knew (didnt know that they were his little cousins) and he was chasing Mikey around and Mikey asked me for help.
He said that when he saw me it was over for him that he knew I was the one, this was after him getting Mikey to call me and me hanging up on him alot! Mikey finally called and begged me to talk to his cousin. Mikey said that he was going to be grounded unless I did. I did telling my now husband what a creep he was.
We ended up hanging out with my best friend and his and somehow it just worked. This was 27 years ago, 8 kids ago (one being our grandbaby we are raising) and going on our 11th grandbaby.
Glad he was persistent and knew I was the one cause I sure didnt!

I remember meeting my husband for the first time when i was still 17 years old... it was like the first day of school for the second semester in college... and he was wearing this Batik style of shirt... well, my first impression was... there's a new guy in schools... but i didn't know then that he was a returning student from the previous year... i wasn't really that drawn to him then... but upon meeting him and talking to him... i found out that he is quite an interesting guy...

Seven years ago, frankly, I didnt have any impression for the first time i meet my current spouse.
So I had thought at time, He just a taller man i've ever seen..and so uncommunicative.
I was not interest of him at all..but don't know why..he is my current spouse now..

My husband and I met 7.5 years ago and we met through Love@aol. Yes, we were an internet relationship. The first time that he emailed me I was really afraid to answer back to him because my previous boyfriend had been from the same small town as him and I was afraid that it was him playing a trick on me.
Well, after talking on the computer a few times, we started talking on the phone. He poured out our lives to each other on the phone. As soon as I got off the phone with him, I told my mother that he was going to be the man that I would marry, I hadn't a clue what he looked like, but I knew that his honesty and integrity were the qualities that I valued in a partner.

Yes I do remember how I met the guy I am with right now. I had actually went to go swimming at this water hole out back of my house and he had been there. I didn't really like him as, I had tried to drowned him but I few days later we actually started talking and then we started dating. We have a little girl together she is almost 2 we have been together for almost 4 years. We are planing on getting married in about 2 years. It is wired some of the stories you hear about how people met but some are really interesting

Hello mermaidivy,
I still remember the very first time I met my husband. We went out on a date. Both of us didn't talk too much actually but after the first meeting, we initially wanted to call it off. I was surprised that he looks very young (he is younger than me...) but later, after a few conversation with him I realized that he is a matured guy. He thought that I act a bit older than my age *laughs* when we first met.

I sure do remember how I met my husband although I’m sure he can’t because he was, shall we say, a little inebriated? We met in a bar; I know... It sounds so sleazy! We started chatting while waiting for a drink and because he had too much to drink I did not feel all that interested but against my better judgement I gave him my number.
Of course he called and off we went to the movies. We stayed platonic friends for a long time before we became romantically involved and now here we are 13 years later with a mortgage and a kid!
Wouldn’t have it any other way!

I met my wife through a colleague's introduction. We didn't meet face-to-face till much later. I was - still am actually - quite a shy person and so was she then. We started by chatting online, then we got to see each other's potraits on Yahoo Messenger. Hmm, she looked ok, she still looks ok now :)
We met a month or so later - our first date. She sat at the edge of the passenger seat as if I were a taxi driver waiting to victimise an innocent girl :) We ate at a Japanese restaurant, and it all started from that day onward. It wasn't perfect, we had lots of issues when it was time to get married, but we held on, we survived for 3 years, and will continue to survive for a long time.
The irony of it was that my wife used to work in the same department where I am working now, which means everyone here knows her. She left 2 years before I joined. We still wonder if we had been colleagues, would things be different? Hmm... I think I'm going to have a separate discussion on that.
Take care and be good, you hear? :D

Thanks for sharing :-) I have heard people say it is not fun to have a couple working in the same department, it could make lots of confronts or arguements.

My hubby and I met 20 yrs ago this year and we met basically after I graduated from high school... a friend of mine liked this boy who liked me and she wanted to hang out with him since she was crazy about him, so she begged me to come along with them so he would go too... strange I know!!.... but then they sent this other guy over to pick me up and bring me over to where they were hanging out... well it happened to be my husband now I dont remember what was really said that night, I just remember thinking this guy was an idiot and who ever ended up with him I would feel sorry for!!
3 months later he asked me out and then that night stood me up... didnt matter because at the time I was absolutely crazy about this other guy... but even though he stood me up, we still hung out in the same crowd...and it took about another month and then we ended up talking at this party about stupid stuff that was on the tv and like 3 hours later we never stopped talking... from that time on I basically been together ever since!!!
I am sure you are going to get some crazy stories here at mylot!! LOL
Happy mylotting.

husband and I met 2 seperate times. The d=first time was in junior college. He was working as a custodian to pay his way through school and I was in the student council. I was sitting in a room that he was emptying garbage in. He had very long and curly hair. I told the other people in the room that I would never marry someone that had hair longer than mine. (and mine was pretty long then too!)
Many years later--it was my first day to work at the post office and he handed me some papers to help me learn the delivery schemes for the office. About 6 months after that we dated off and on for about 5 years. We then got married and have been for 15 years.
