the solar eclipse on the morning of July 22, 2009, was considered as the longest solar eclipse in 500 years.
but what a pity, here in shenzhen is not the most perfect place to watch. some of my friends and classmates along the changjiang river had watched it so proudly and beautifully.
what's worse to me, i didnt watch it that day, only felt the day suddenly became darker in the morning when in the office. and see nothing when i went to the window.
how abt u, have u seen it? or have u seen a solar eclipse in the past years?
hmm, i guess it must be a very wonderful moment.

I am from Guangzhou. It is nearby your city. So we experienced the same. We couldn't see the full solar eclipse here. But at least we could see a part of it and that's OK. This is my first time to see the solar eclipse.
I love China

i did see it while i was in my country last year and that was when it moved across some parts of africa, now it is moving somewhere else and i know that it takes a generation have such wonderful experiences, i do believe it is a rare occurence and one should count himself priviledged to have witnessed such occassion.

I didn't watch it with my naked eyes in the office, I watched on the internet, it is incredible, amazing. the day was darked outside about five minutes. Most of my co-workers watched it outside, I felt pity because i was busy at that time, so i just stayed my office and watched it on the internet.

I am originally from Japan and my friends were talking about it lots.
Some said they couldn't see because of the weather and some said
they caught a part of it :)
Yes, I agree that it must be a wonderful moment!!

I've seen that eclipse and I was just frustrated. Imagine that the longest eclipse to happen was just a very minor eclipse in my place. I was only able to see a part of the moon in the sun. However, when I was younger, when the total solar eclipse happened at the southern part of our country, I was able to see it.

I have seen solar eclipse only in television. In india i don't think its that visible like other countries. If at all it was visible, my parent's never allowed me to see it.

I did watch one briefly a few years ago on a very cloudy day. As it was dull and not particularly warm I made the mistake of looking directly at the sun. Immediately I was forced to turn away very quickly due to the unexpected glare. I will never ever try that again!

hi, hsofyan
this time is solar eclipse. i think the solar eclipse is different from the lunar eclipse.
refer to the solar eclipse, it means the moom is between the earth and sun, and it blocks the sunlight from the sun to the earth.
while the lunar eclipse, it means the earth between the sun and moon, the shadow of the earth just ward off the sunlight from the sun to the moon.
i hope i have explained clearly, lol...

I have seen the Solar eclipse by the time i watch CNN and they started reporting about this eclipse, i quickly took a shade and back outside, look up and see the sun. but it was just the part of it because it was no longer complete. i made a discussion about that if you check mine. have a great day.
