I'm Addicted! It's honestly one of the only things I use on my cell phone. A lot more impersonal then a phone call, that's for sure. But i think that's what makes it so great. I'm not really a fan of talking on the telephone. I find it quite awkward to be quite honest. Text messaging is the perfect solution! What do you guys think?

I prefer text messaging over calling people. I unlimited text messages and only three hundred minutes a month to talk, so I save the talking for when I have to make an important phone call or for my mom.

I text and I made an occasional call on my cell phone, I believe it is also cheaper, more private, and yes, I do love talking on the phone but it is better on my wallet to text away.

Same with me. I got an unlimited texting plan so I could text as much as I want. After I did that, I set my monthly minutes to 300. It brought my cell phone bill down ten dollars the past two months, so I think it was a wise choice!

I do not have unlimited, I have a text bundle of 1000 text messages per month, and from there I spent like ten dollars on calls. So it is like 20 dollars per month. I believe it is great. Unlimited would have been 30 dollars per month, not bad either.

I think if I only had 1000 text message available each month, I would go through them all in a week! I text a lot!

Me too. I normally send 400 text messages form my mobile every day. And this does not include the forwards I sent. To my astonishment there are people who send more than 700 per day. This is definitely an addiction. However I don find anything harmful in this addiction. I prefer messaging rather than talking over phone.

I don't send THAT many a day. Maybe 100 each day, depending on how busy of a day it was and if anything interesting had happened. I did, however, see a story on the news about this girl who sends something like 1500 texts a day, and most of them are to her best friend who she goes to school with. Apparently they text back and fourth all the time, even when they are right next to eachother. I hope, when the day comes that I have a kid, they don't text that much!

I hate talking on the phone, and I agree that texting is a great alternative. I can say what needs to be said and then move on. It's great! I wouldn't say I am addicted to texting, but I do prefer it to talking on the phone.

I text more than I actually call anyone because it's easier than calling sometimes. If I'm at work, I can't talk to people on my phone so I text instead. I think that if it's going to be something serious, you should call them but if it's nothing serious, you can just text

I test more too. If I were busy it would probably be a pain to call someone or answer my phone, but with texting, I don't have to worry about replying right away. I can also think before I "speak" too.

Yes I love texting because not only is it quicker than calling someone, it is more efficient as well. If you need to tell more than one person the same thing it is very useful and running a business that is great in order to communicate with all your people.

I like texting. Short, sweet, and to the point. I just upgraded to a new phone with a keyboard.

I can honestly say that I am not, as I don't text. I talk on the phone or the computer. I guess I need to get up with the times. The thing of it is, my daughter and I always talk on the cellphone or we use the computer to chat on. So, I guess I really don't need teh text messaging part of it, however, my plan has unlimited text messages. They are there if I ever need to use them, s I like the fact I have that option. I fuwaa ainxw I am a grandmother and usually I don't thing grannies text message. Oh well, maybe one day I will text who knows. Have a very good day, and happy mylotting.

I'm much more comfortable messaging as compared to calling. One thing is the cost of calls, the other is for text messages, you can take your own sweet time replying, or not replying at all (choice entirely yours), while doing other stuff rather than having to hold on to the phone, and multi-tasking with it. My friends and I can just chat over messaging, type as long as 3 pages per message, and just continue chatting. Probably am just used to messaging that I'm not comfortable on the phone. However I realized one downside of text messaging is that it may not express your intentions well, and worst still may even cause a misunderstanding if the reader reads your tone wrongly. Any experience on that? I worry about this at times.

I prefer calling to text messages. if someone sends text message to me and i reply it as quick as i can,or i send messages to my friend ,then i start waiting text messages.you know, most of time my friends reply very slow, i hate waiting, so i always call my friends directly if someone sends messages to me.

I absolutely LOVE texting and think it's one of the best inventions ever. I especially like the fact that you can avoid actually calling someone if you aren't in the mood to talk on the phone and instead can instantly send them a message via texting. It's so cool! For me, personally, texting comes in very handy for keeping tabs on my teenaged children because I don't feel as though I am being an overprotective mother by texting them but if I were to be calling them as much as I text them, I don't think they would answer the phone every time. The one negative of texting is that I can't hear my kids conversations to ensure that they are appropriate, so sometimes I will snoop through both their inbox and sentbox just to make sure they are receiving appropriate conversations as well as sending too. I'm the same way with their myspace and facebook accounts. I have their passwords and monitor their accounts which they both agreed to, otherwise they knew I would not allow them to have them. There is one downside to texting, and that is when people abuse the privilege and decide to be inappropriate and do "sexting" as opposed to texting. That is a concern for many, especially parents. Also, I feel that people should consider where they are when they are texting, for example, not while you are behind the wheel or at work or while you have company. All in all, like everything else, if you use it correctly and don't abuse it, then it will be around for generations to come, to enjoy. Although I'm sure with the way technology is, there will be something even better than texting in the future but for now it's the best thing since the internet (world wide web), came out. Happy Texting Everyone!

I'm a pretty big fan of texting as I can text and focus on other activites. The only pet peeve I have about texting is the 160 character limit. Some phones have a feature that lets you type as much as you want, then the phone splits your long text into smaller ones for phones. I'm just not lucky enough to have that feature installed on my phone. =(

I'm addicted to texting, lol. Honestly though for me, texting is most useful if it's for someone you don't talk to much, and if you one day need to talk to them or ask them something it's convenient, and not awkward like it is on the phone. BUT, I've been texting everyone regularly like crazy haha :( Unlimited texting is not good for trying to control texting habits.
