Last night I went to Heaven!

I had to try out a masseusse to see if he was good enough to be used in my part time employment as Manger of a Villa. It was free. and at my home. I tell you - the things we have to do to earn a living! Well, I nearly cancelled as we had a power outage. But then I thought, why not have it outside on the patio in the cool breeze? So I did. I lit a few candles and sat down and waited for him. At first, it was so painful - tears came to my eyes as I had asked him for a deep tissue massage. He said that my muscles in back, neck and shoulders were all knotted and no wonder I was experiencing nerve pain from my hip going down my leg. all of this was caused by stress. Talk about doing a good job. It took him nearly 2 hours to give a full body massage and when I lay on my back, looking at the huge stars and feeling the breeze - I felt like I was in an expensive spa. Absolute heaven! My flexibility has increased - I can actually turn my neck and look over either shoulders. I've booked him for 3 more massages! This was only my fourth massage in my entire life. I plan, somehow, to make sure that I receive one at least once a month. do you or have you ever had a professional massage?

I am glad it has helped you. Tell him to hurry up & get here. I am waiting & not patiently either, I don't care if he is ugly as a mud fence, lol but being good looking doesn't hurt a thing.

How wonderful that must have been. No I've never gotten a real massage. A friend sent me a gift card to a spa once and I did plan to use it for a massage, but I never did, I let the gift card go to waste because it wasn't enough to cover any of the services at that spa, and I never had the money to put towards it.

Sounds like a good deal! If it were that cheap I'd continue to treat myself to it as well. I'll let you know the moment the card arrives.

My you no what of a boss is coming on Monday for a week, so I was already tense. He said that my muscles were as hard as tennis balls and my back pain was caused by nerves being trapped in the muscles - this is whay IO have pain. He only charges $15 for locval people and I will pay hi in the future. Need 3 to get my muscles flexible again and then maybe once a month or 2 months. I van turn my neck and look over my shoulders - something that I could not do. will not be online much next week as god will be here but I did send a card for your son's birthday yesterday - tell him that I'm sorry that it will not arrive on his birthday. Blessings

I'm guessing he was good enough! Yes, I had a massage from a woman in our church who is a professional. One night I couldn't get rid of a migraine, so my dad drove me over to her shop after she got off work. She had offered to give me a free massage. She had me come in her room with the aromatherpy candles and soft music, and I thought it wasn't going to work anyway. An hour and a half later my migraine was gone and my neck no longer hurt. I was so relieved! I even fell asleep for a little while.

It is wonderful isn't it? The stress that we put ourselves through is amazing. The muscles get tense - mine were as hard as rock - ands now I feel so much more flexible

Maybe a paid vacation at the Rio or ...... Oh whatever it is do enjoy it. Oh by the way, the closest i came toany such fulfilling massage was when a colleague of mine back in college decided my headache was due to stress. I tellyou allshe massaged was my nape and temples and that headache was gone. It felt soooooooooo good.

I had quite a few when I first started having back problems before i determined that they weren't helping me in the long run (but sure felt good short term). But I have them every so often. My sister gave me a massage coupon for my birthday last year. But never outside with a nice tropical breeze!

It ended up in heaven. But it diod hurt at first as I had asked for a deep tissue massage as I knew my neck, shoulders and muscles in the back and bum were frozen. Have you ever tried going to a chiropractor? I had my back aligned last year and this also helped to relieve pain and gave me more mobility in my neck

Yes, I have when I was in Taiwan and Thailand I had them. I have wanted to do it here and had appointments to which they canceled or I did. I'd like to find someone that is willing to come to my home and do this. It is a wonderful thing to have done. It does help relive so much stress and working out those tightened up muscles...absolutely heaven.

Hey cynthiann! You are so funny! I did have two complimentary massages from the hair salon that I used to go to and I hated them! They hurt like hell! They guy that did them, I thought was rough, but I know that it was just the way it was supposed to be done and he probably was great! He was sure cute! I just don't like strangers putting their hands on me! We did eventually become good friends the longer I went to the salon because he used to shampoo my hair, but again he was rough! I just don't like massages! So, I guess it must be me! I'm happy that you liked yours! I guess you really did since you want one a month! For me, it made me more tense!

Opal, They can be rough, all you have to do is to ask them to take it easy on you. Many people want them to be rough you and I are different though. The ones that have done me were asked to take it easy with me. I bruise very easily and it does hurt a lot if they are rough. Just try it again and ask him to be easy with you, you will love it. I'm like you I don't like anyone touching me. I'm really funny about this. I had women do my massages. I've never had a guy do it.

Hey Opal and Moondancer = this is why I had to try him out. We have only used women before. But he was so respectful and good and he had incredible strength. That guy Opal sounds like he is just a rough guy who doesn't take pride in his work. I specifically requested a deep tissue massage (which I have had women do before) but he had this strength. When I could not take the pain any more then I told him. This is why I am having 3 sessions quickly in order to get my muscles flexible again. He worked on particular muscles where I had a trapped nerve and although it hurt - I am now pain free. You need to get someone who is recommended and will give you the type of massage that you want - either deep tissue or just a relaxing massage. You are the customer so you tell them how you want it done. I am so sorry Opal that you had a bad experience. He was spo respectful and towels wwere draped everywhere and only one body area exposed when he was working on that area. Try again but get someone who is recommended. Blessings to you both. I have not be onlu=ine much this past week adn next week willl be wortse as my boss will be on property

Professional massages always put me to sleep, and make me feel like I slept for another 3 days. Every time I can justify it, and sometimes even when I can't I book one. Cheers for the setting too that has got to be lovely.

I like massage. I will go to a spa and have a full body massage everytime I go to Thailand (if you can call that a professional massage). I usually ask for 2 hours of massage, because it is so cheap there. I even had a massage by the beach once! Having a massage once in a while is good. It can loosen some knotted muscles in our body. Our body deserves a pampering once in a while as a reward for having to work for us for such a long time. Yes, it can be heaven indeed.

I so agree with ou. To have amassage by the sea must have been heaven! My neck, shoulders and back muscles were frozen and this is why I needed a deep tissue massage. I am having some more to get rid of the kinks completely. Blessings

Sometimes i just got to sleep during the massage. After that i feel i walk very lightly . Cool.

Deep tissue doesn't automatically mean deep, deep pressure that puts you in pain. Deep Tissue Massage is about listening to the muscles and going as deep as they let you go. It's about re-educating the muscles. A lifetime of stress can't be worked out in one session. It didn't get there in one day, It won't work out in one day. I am not disagreeing with anything you said, just telling you my experience over six years. But please don't use the term masseur, very negative means associated with it, so we prefer massage therapist :)

Oh I am so sorry we use the terms masseur or masseusse over here. I do apologise if I offended you. No, I do realise that i will need a series of treatments to 'loosen ' p the muscles. It was just that my neck and back was so hard - so it did hurt but I was the one who told him to continue with it . Many thanks for your input. I so appreciate it.

Oh yes, I used to go to a masseuse when I went to the gym years ago. Also, I went to one at the chiropractor's office where I used to go years ago. I prefer to go to a woman masseuse, myself. It is great, isn't it? I almost forgot to mention that I used to get massages at the spa where I used to do nails. The owner's sister used to give them and sometimes, the owner, herself, would give them. They are very relaxing! Kathy.

It takes all the kinks out of the muscles and give you more flexibility. It felt wondeful afterwards. I do hope that you are doing o.k. dear friend
