I came across this YouTube video via a friend's blog in which she posted the video and just had to share it with you
I LOVE this...This is not your traditional (and rather boring) wedding ceremony but a real upbeat concept...so enjoy watching it...love the music
(NOT a referral but to a YouTube video)

If you were getting married, would you consider a non-traditional wedding ceremony like this?

Wow....very unique and lovely wedding entrance, a far cry from the traditional wedding entrance that is usually very formal and monotonous. I have attended a similar style of wedding entrance but it was a traditional dance accompanied by the beating of instrument while the dancers in full costume gear danced their way to the front pew and the bride walking in snail pace in her lovely wedding gown. A grand wedding entrance like this would leave a long sweet memory on the wedded couples and the invited guests are equally entertained. It is indeed a good idea and I wish I can have something of that nature when it comes to my son's wedding.

I wonder how they convinced the church to have such a "different" type wedding ceremony? Glad to see when people are willing to break tradition and what's expected.

Isn't this a hoot? Saw it on the Today Show yesterday before leaving for work and that music was in my head for hours - helped ease my morning a bit.
Can't see ME doing anything like that but I loved it and would be thrilled if any of my kids or grandkids decided to do something like that.
LOL - now I have the link I'm going to be listening half the night too :(

Hey pye,
This was the best entertainment I've seen in a long time. I was in awe. These young people must have spent a lot of hours practicing and having the time of their lives. This is something wonderful to show their kids. Thanks for posting this.
PS I love your new Avatar. Pye Kitty is so beautiful and this picture is amazing. Hugsss

I have seen that, and it is awesome. Unconventional weddings are more memorable. For some time, I have decided on wanting an unconventional wedding. Something to set it apart from the usual tradition and routine - something that is specific to us and our family and interests. I wouldn't want to just have another "storybook" wedding and have the same events as everyone else - do something out of the ordinary, because hey, it is your ONE wedding day.

Everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves there, especially the guests who must have been rather surprised at such a ceremony

That was something else!!! I usually don't watch you tube videos, but I might now. I like the originality of that. My brother's wedding was also somewhat unusual, at least to me. A local tv station was recording it because they were looking for the most unusual graduation. My sister-in-law was graduating from college in the morning, getting ready to move the day or two before, and getting married in the evening. Her family came in from out of state so she scheduled both activities together to save travel expenses. My nephew was the ring bearer and he didn't like being videoed so he put the pillow in his face when they tried to do a close-up of him. I just wish I had a copy of that part at least and I might put it on you tube. Have a great day!!!

sorry. I don't know if my brother would have a copy of it or not. I haven't had much contact with him since I left NC in 2006.

Funny I saw this for the first time today. I thought it was great and so different. I actually started to cry because they made it their own and it was so creative. I loved the music too. I just wonder what made them think of this.

Hi pyewacket,
Oh I so love it!!! My son checked on me as he saw me laughing in front of the computer, he too watched it then we both had a good laugh. It sure is a fun wedding, I would love to attend one like this.
When I planned my wedding (so many years ago LOL) I had some thoughts of making it a little different, like asking the choir and a handpicked wedding singer to sing a fast song rather than the traditional wedding songs, but everyone told me it's ridiculous. I ended up doing the normal and ordinary as I didn't want to be accused as a weirdo. Good that in some parts of the world variations like this is now allowed. It's refreshing and very entertaining.

The church that they were married in must have had a lot of tolerance to allow for such a ceremony, but the priest even looked like she enjoyed it--I wonder if they started a new trend in weddings?

This really made me laughed. This is so original and fun. I am not sure if somebody will actually copy this ceremony. Definitely a wedding ceremony to remember!
Thank you so much for sharing.

It was good break for me. I am working now on wedding pictures...and the couple is funny as well, so I have good pictures. I am working on reducing pictures from 5K to 500...
I love the video...maybe those people work in dancing group?....funny surprise for guest....

Yes I guess the guests there didn't know what to expect when the first few notes of that song started--not your typical "wedding march" music

Hi pye,
That is brilliant and very entertainning but I wouldn't be able to dance down the isle as I would be too nervous and don't know how to dance anyway.
Bright Blessings.
