Hi, I come from an Non-English speaking country and now work in an international company. It is suggested that every emplyee should have an English name. But i am not very skilled at it. Could you help me make an English name? My first name is Yihu, with the pronunciation of /i,hu:/. Many thanks for your attention, no matter giving me the English name or not. Also appreciate if you give your explain of the English name. Happy mylotting!

I think because Chinese name is hard to remember or to pronounce so your boss required you to have English name. I think Brad, Bert, Joseph or Michael. I think Hollywood actors name is will do if you have an idol you can name yourself like him. Here we don't have a problem in our name because most of our names are English and Spanish.

Since I don't know you are a male or female, so it is hard for me to think out an English name for you. But some time ago I knew a website http://www.whatalovelyname.com and it will provide different English names according to your personalities. You can try it and I hope you can select an English that you like:) I love China

Interesting! Sure, I would help you out by suggesting you an English name. The first word that came to my mind is - Blessing. Blessing is both a noun and a verb. According to the meaning of the noun (your name), Blessing means a favor or gift bestowed by God, thereby bringing happiness. Let all happiness be yours. Blessed be, Blessing!

i/ hu as in (eye and hoo?) if so i would go with hugh. Its really weird they make you have an english name. Probably cause you're dealing with american customers, and they want them to be more comfortable. Very odd though. Hugh rymes with your name I think. And its very american. Just ask any old lady. and look up hugh grant.

I think that you should choose Ian. It is pronounced i-in or i-an. I think that this name would be good for you, because it an approximation to your actual name. The name Ian is Gaelic in origin, and it is unique, so people are more likely to believe that this is your name. Are you working for a tech support company?

Wow, I think you work on the company which indirectly support discrimination. In my country, even joint venture company from local and foreign investor, they never ask the employee to have English name or change their name to English name. What the basic purpose of that? name is our identity, and someone who force people to change it from my opinion is like against the spirit of human rights. I can't give you suggestion, sorry, but I just want to tell you... just be yourself.

You're working at a call center, doing customer service? Use a name that's easy for you to pronounce. Bill, Jim, Jon, Ted, something like that.

Do you fond of any films made by Hollywood? Do you like any actors in English-speaking country? I think the name should be better if it is not too long, it is not easy for our Non-English speaking country people to call it. Micheal, Bill, Tim, ect. It depends on you :)
