They were a lot of heavy lay offs. worst part is in my country where two companies shut/closed down because of recession. more people are now are unemployed..and am one of them. i guess that's why a lot of people hang out in the street.

Well that's too bad since there's nothing more to do for the time being than staring at the streets. Maybe it's about time to do some self business venture and encourage working at home. XD

Well, look at this way. Maybe there is a better way out for you. Maybe you would end up in a better place. :) Be strong and hang on.

Oh!! These people are crazy. They speak rules when they recruit people. When an employee has to put his papers he / she has to follow all rules. But when the management decides to terminate him / her, they say it on the face.
Rules are for us and not for them. I pray that your hubby's new job get started soon.

The companies are so hell bent on taking the last drop of blood out from people that they forget the humane side of it. They forget that the employee has a family to support. They just lay them off or make unreasonable demands. Some are: work on a grave yard shift, take a salary cut, get demoted.
Life is tough.

Hey,
Well I still live with my parents, so at the moment, I haven't really noticed the recession, since I still don't have a full time professional job. Hopefully this recession will lift and we can all live our lives how we used to. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

It is sad to think about recession. Yes, I am affected by recession. I didn't get a salary hike or bounus for the last two years. The same applies to my colleagues also. I feel every company is making use of recession for their benifit for cutting down the wages of employees and a reason for not giving salary hikes. It is very demotivating.

I bought a house but the home loan rates are still the same. Banks should consider reducing the amount. How can banks behave indifferently when all are suffering to make both ends meets. Disgusting!!!
Even I am waiting impatiently..when this recession will get over :-(

I've been experiencing it for 2 years now. Most people can find a job if they have a job but it's hard for those who don't have a job and are looking for work. I've been trying to find work but I need specific hours and its hard to find a company that will work with that. I have child care but only m-f 6-6 and not on sat or sun. And My mom watches my daughter so I have to clear it with her if I'm able to work or not.

Recession is the bad word in today's world. Nobody wants to face the grim reality. Its on the face. People with a busy look stare at you on the streets. They do not want you to know that they dont have anywhere to go. They want so badly to go to office (any office) and belong. But they have been laid off and are desperately looking for work. They are all over the place. Its a sad situation... But I believe it will turn. :)
