Is it just me or has the mylot community population declined?

When I first joined my lot in 2005 there were around 46,000 members. Right after I joined, when earnings were still extremely high and it was not unusual to see 1, 2, or even 3+ dollars a day in earnings for participation in the community, there was an explosion of membership and it shot up to somewhere around 186,000 members which is why the earnings went down so far. IE distributing the same amount of cash to four times the number of members. Then the membership seemed to level off. Now it appears to have declined, and I rarely see the people that were huge contributors to the network posting discussions anymore. When I first noticed the dip in earnings I posted a few discussions asking if the money was what we were really here for or for the discussion community and many people responded positively saying that the money that they were making was secondary to the sense of community. Almost all of those responders are no longer actively participating. What's up? Is it the sense of community and the quality of discussion on whatever topic we like or is it really the money? How much do you earn on average per month participating here? For me it is around 1 or 2 dollars a month. This is a big change from the $30 and $40 a month that I was making when I first joined. However I understand that above all the community must survive if there are to be any earnings paid out to anyone. I have always participated in this community because I like to discuss things online and I will remain a participating member of myLot regardless of the amount of money I make and how ofter I cash out on my participation. That is just fluff, $10 to someone in India or Pakistan is a lot more money than the same amount is to someone here in America where this amount will not even get you into a movie. I miss some of my myLot origionals and the quality of their discussions. But at least, I am still here.

I am so sorry about that! I didn't intend to discourage anyone here. Normally it takes me two to three months to accrue enough $$ to reach the threshold. However I know on eof th eusers, blkcat1 posted over 1000 discussions and responses in the first two months that he was here and cashed in when it was still very profitable about a year and a half ago. How fast you make it to 1st cashout and every one subsequent to it is completely up to you. You can build slowly with quality discussions and responses or you can run through the site willy nilly commenting on everything that you see whether you have an interest or not. The second way even if you do meet some interesting people on here I have found that people burn out on the discussions faster and then have to take a break. So I think gradually building your rank and your cash is the better option.
