Any problems after not turning off your computer for a month ? Say, over-heating ?
etc ?
No problems during lightning-days ?
My computer has some problems now : after turning-off, it takes a long time to open again ! So, I intend to not turning-off my computer, but not sure of its consequences.

I have to restart it once a month, or else it starts to get really slow. I can't figure that one out.
Anyway, I don't have any overheating problems, the computers internal thermostat activates the fans when they need to come on. As long as you take time to clean the dust off of the vents on the outside of your computer, (maybe once every two months) than heat shouldn't be an issue.

For practical reason, I do. It is a waste of electricity, money and may cause accident. So be a habit to shut down your pc. Great day!

Hey,
Yes I always turn off my computer, since it isn't good practicum to continually leave it one, it might ware out the hard drive or the CPU if you do that. If you want to just flick it back on, at least put it on 'hibernate' or 'sleep'. You can still flick it back on in like 2 seconds with these methods. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

I have 3 computers in my house each has a program I have on them that earns me money when the computers are on so when I go to bed I rotate which one gets to stay on all night and the other 2 will be shut down. So at least I make some money while I sleep

There are benefits to turning off your computer when you are done with it. First of all it saves on energy, and we could all use the savings in the power bill department. It also gives your computer a chance to cool down. PCU's run at a very high temp and running for extended periods of time can cause faster wear and tear. Also turning off your system clears your RAM, which is good because a lot of information is store there, some that is not needed anymore, and this can slow down your computer over time.
You don't have to turn it off EVERY night, but every couple of days isn't a bad idea.
Blessings!

I have a laptop so it shuts off when I close it. I keep it in a drawer to keep the cats off of it!

Yes. Also when I have to go to college. I only use it for 5 hours during the mornings and another 5 hours in the evenings and I turn in off all those hours in between.
As much as I'd love to leave my computer downloading, the weather is too hot here and I'm afraid my PC would die of overheat.

I turn my computer off when I go to bed. I think leaving it on even in sleep mode wastes more energy than just starting it back up again in the morning. Besides, my computer seems to have a problem with overheating, so I turn it off to keep it cool, among other things.
